Cafe63’s breakfast menu is legendary across Brisbane. Add to this the fact that Cafe63’s many cafe-restaurant outlets have a near-universal policy of opening their doors at the crack of dawn to serve the properly early birds (5:30am here in Stafford), and you’ve got a first-rate selection of first-thing-in-the-morning food and drink – and coffee, lest we forget – that has to be seen, smelled, eaten and sipped to be believed. And, as if the Compton’s peak stack of toasted Turkish bread with bacon, eggs and more, washed down with a Jackie Chan fruit frappe with orange, apple and mango – deep breath – weren’t enough: you can pick up a bunch of fresh flowers to further freshen your day long after you’ve left.

Cafe63’s Stafford City Shopping Centre keeps it as seasonal as all the popular Brisbane café-restaurant outlets do. At the time of writing, Cafe63 Stafford was serving up its autumn favourites and specials. Although we do make a regular habit of it in real life, we don’t want to dwell on breakfast too much here. So, to lunch: try the Border Leicester. This local favourite is a wrap of slow-cooked lamb shoulder with spicy mayo, green leaves, slaw, tomato, feta and Greek yoghurt sprinkled with roasted macadamias. Sound tempting?
