Top service, good food, creative without taking away from the authenticity of the dishes. A fun place and good value. I brought friends back there after my first visit - all within a week. I had the "feed me" menu both times. Enjoyed the surprise element and generally loved all the dishes the first time round and 9 out of 10 dishes the 2nd visit. Just 2 points they can improve on to bring it to perfection: - the chef could pay a bit of attention to select a more even distribution of type of dishes (e.g. on my 2nd visit, there was probably one too many dishes which featured mushrooms and there was only 1 with seafood). - add a drop more alcohol into their cocktails (all with hilarious names).

Wow...Asian food done so differently! Our favoirites were the crispy chicken Bao buns, the dumplings...both the lamb and the mushroom...the popcorn chicken, the crispy duck and the pork ribs. A great array of flavours! The service was good. The wine list is limited, but some good options nonetheless. Very impressed!

Everything was beautiful at Chapas, the food and the service. We booked for 6 people and then had seven people but nothing was too much trouble and the overall cost was surprisingly good.Thank you

Great food Grest service. Great wine. Something a little different. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We took the $55 option with chefs selection. Well worth it and desert was anazing

Fantastic food. Wonderful service. They were able to cater for us having a vegan on our table with the feed me fantastically and she didn't miss out on anything and we still got to try lots of their amazing meat dishes.

Very tasty food with a nice wine list. We tried an assortment of different dishes and were impressed across the board. Great place for gluten free options.

Food was really good although not able to eat all on menu as they don’t serve free range chicken or pig. Such a shame this day and age. The food I did have was good, the ambiance was great and service was great too.

Great food & excellent service, the staff are efficient & friendly. It's the perfect place to go before you head to a show at the Astor.

The food was really really delicious, very fresh and plated up very nice. Maybe a little pricey, but definitely come back for the experience 😊

We had a lovely evening at Chapas. The service was outstanding with the lady looking after our table being very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were consistently delivered very quickly also. The meals were a decent size, including the "small" plates and we were left stuffed and unable to completely finish our meal (we ordered 4 small, 1 large and a side between 2 of us, as suggested by our wait person). My favourite dish was the bang bang chicken. Being able to use the Entertainment book was great as we got a discount off.

We had a really good night, food and service was excellent. Th duck pancakes were particularly good although in saying that the food was also excellent.

We really enjoyed our night here - not just the food (which was superb) but also the service. We were attended to quickly and the manager kept checking to see that we had enough drinks. He knew we were off to a show so made every effort that the food arrived quickly. Very good experience

We booked a table of three on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Great service and great food. Liked the small menu which made it easier to choose. Great ambience.

The food is very different from usual Chinese. We were a party of 4 and shared 4 small plates and 3 large which was plenty of food. The staff were very attentive, the wait for the food was short and the décor is very attractive. We will definitely eat here again.

Food was yum and waiters where very friendly.. really great venue and atmosphere. Slightly disappointing that the wine we wanted they didn’t have in stock, nor a ginger soda on the menu, and there was a small mix up with charges on the bill. But apart from that good night out with friends and would go back!

Great food and atmosphere, really enjoyed the crab with truffle sauce and the pork which was awesome. Popcorn chicken was also really good. Would recommend to others

My son had recommended Chapas to me and finally my partner and I finally made it there. It was every good as he said it was. Delicious food and excellent wine.

The staff were amazing. Overwhelmed with choice our waitress helped us and was patient through our indecision. We ended up with a perfect selection of delicious food. Our cocktails were Also amazing and our drink waiter was fun and engaging. Loved everything about the place!

The deconstructed bubble tea is fantastic (as is everything else) . Also perfect for Zero Gluten / Coeliac Friendly staff and the cocktails are quite different

What a fabulous place, great ambience whether for an intimate dinner for two or to catch up with friends. Their food is delicious, plenty to choose from and staff are friendly, bright and welcoming.

I had been to Chapas a few times and was happy to rate it highly and to declare it one of my favourite restaurants on Beaufort Streets. Hence, I booked a table for my birthday, excited to introduce my family to this restaurant I had been raving about. I was left disappointed by this most recent experience. Firstly, the gentleman who was on hosting duth that night (23rd of March) took his time to get to us already making us feel like we were going to be a burden on him. Our table had not been prepared although we had a booked a couple of days before our visit. The complimentary plate of delicious pickled vegetables was not offered as it had been in the past but was instead on the menu for $12. The menu itself was not longer what it used to be - the items on offer were not as exciting. The food, no longer party-in-the-mouth material! The only highlights really were the fried calamari and the bao buns who I think these guys have nailed! Oh did I forget to mention that we had to get up from our table many times to get napkins, plates or drinks?! Yes we did and really we shouldn’t have to but it seems that service standards have dropped alongside food quality and tastiness. I will not be running back to Chapas anytime soon unfortunately! Let’s hope these guys wake up from their nap soon!

Amazing gluten free food. Service was top notch and great atmosphere. They asked if there were any special food requirements right at the beginning Try the home made sodas YUM!!!

Food was delicious, I would describe it as Asian fusion. Dessert was a real winner with Chappas' own take on a deconstructed bubble tea - quite the experience and not sickly sweet. Nice to see the chef's originality and creativity on the plate. A must try.

Staff are friendly. Food and cocktails are good. Cocktails had funny names so was a good laugh. Went with a group of 8 girls, everyone thought it was reasonably priced too

Great food but service was lacking given only two tables were occurred when we were there. The desert at the top of the list was truly magnificent and worth going just for that it was $22. Forgotten the name though.

Restaurant was funky, food was ok, nothing special, having lived in Asia for a few years I always feel a little disappointed at attempts to copy Asian food.

Pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavours at Chapas, which are usually overlooked in fusion restaurants. Loved the twist to the many signature Chinese dishes, such as Dong Po meat. The crispy egglants had to be the favourite though!

This is the place to go if you’re torn between a western brunch and an asian brunch. Great selection of food available. Would definitely recommend
