One of a clutch of upstart Melbourne restaurants along the Docklands NewQuay Promenade, close to Harbour Esplanade and Docklands Drive, Docklands Lotus is a Chinese restaurant with a menu that will astound. The list is truly astounding, dominated by the kind of Cantonese cuisine you’d expect, but dotted with some Malaysian and Straits Chinese specialties like char kway teow and Kuala Lumpur-style Hokkien mee. If you’re feeling up for a big night, go for the Dex Special, noodles with king prawns, scallops, pork, chicken and a secret ingredient, but if adventure is what you’re really after then we suggest the chicken, beef or combination tomato sauce specials. Plus, if you like your fowl fresh, there are a number of ‘duckling’ dishes at this Docklands Chinese restaurant to choose from.
Food really good and staff quite tolerant of the children we had with us. Most of the drink order and meal was quick but had a longish wait mid meal for some of the drinks when they got a bit busier . The only bad point was one waitress knocked over a drink onto a guests camera and cellphone when delivering part of tha main and didn't offer to clean up or replace it.
Delicious n quick authentic Chinese. Slight confusion with the language barrier although not a big problem. Lovely veiw of the harbour. I would definitely cost the Docklands Lotus restaurant again.
Great night, great food, great service reasonably priced and the staff were fantastic. We wIll definitely be returning. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
