Dumplings and beer make an excellent pair and this cool Potts Point joint specialises in both. Attracting aficionados of Asian street food as well as beer enthusiasts from all over Sydney, Dumplings & Beer serves up authentic Chinese steamed dumplings alongside an array of international beers. Located on Ward Avenue, this snug venue fills up quickly, so be sure to book in advance to snag yourself a seat.
Over at Dumplings & Beer, the menu may be small but it is perfectly selected, featuring the best of Chinese street food and with its stylish stripped-back decor, mismatched furniture and urban Asian-inspired artwork, Sydney’s Dumplings & Beer is a bar and kitchen with lots of hip appeal. Try some pan-fried pork and cabbage dumplings, steamed pork and prawn dim sum, or some siao lung bao (steamed dumplings with soup inside).
Other choices on the menu at this popular Potts Point restaurant include crackling pork belly sliders, and vegetarian options like the eggplant and tofu wrap and broccoli with hoisin sauce. The beer menu boasts a long list of bottles to compliment the cuisine, from German pilsners as well as a selection of Asian teas. Situated in Sydney’s Potts Point, Dumplings & Beer is undoubtedly the place to go for dumplings and beer. To guarantee a table, making a reservation at Dumplings & Beer in advance is recommended.
An amazing spontaneous find via the Urban Lists article on the best dumplings in Sydney. We wouldn't have found this place otherwise. Everything was utterly delicious, but standouts were the Shallot Pancake and the BBQ Pork Buns. In particular, the BBQ Pork Buns were the best I've ever had. Reservation recommended as it is a small venue.
Always great food here with a really fun vibe and atmosphere. Of course the dumplings are good but the sliders are definitely where it’s at.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! The pork crackling buns were to die for! Small little restaurant would highly recommend to anyone looking for some great quality dumplings
