Food was great well presented but service a bit slow. They were not well organised. We needed to remind the waiter more than twice more tea. We appeared to be have been forgotten
Very good food, very good service (the waitress was very friendly) but - somehow - they were out of the drinks we requested. We intend to go again.
Fair food, not enough manpower, unsystematic management. Decor not comfortable : dim light, baskets of cutleries & other stuffs messed around, dirty carpet ! Not worth the original price! Despite the convenient location, definitely no return!
the food was really fresh and delicious.. The restaurant is in a great location and the decor was absolutely lovely.. Would recommend this restaurant to othwr
Poor service. Took ages to get a drink or some tea and they ran out of dessert with no apology or offer of refund. Once bitten......
My booking was at 11am. The restaurant was not ready to serve anyway at that time. The staffs open the door a few minutes after 11am and the staffs all started eating their lunch when we arrive. So we waited for them to finish their lunch before we got the menus. Only a few types of dimsims were served in the first 1 hour, so we kept eating the same dishes. When we were about to leave, they started pushing carts with more variations, but obviously we were already full, so we left. Despite the poor customer service, the dimsims were up to standard and tasted good. I recommend getting a booking from noon onwards so that the kitchen is up and running.
The taste is normal except fried rice. The location is good. The service is normal. The quantity is good. It's still good in value with Groupon discount.
Dumplings was amazing. Customer service even better. Definitely will be back again! Also a great environment. Highly recommend everyone if you like dumplings to go.
The food was delicious and the ambience opulent. The service was good. However some of the staff did not speak English, in particular the only male waiter who promptly took my voucher and then had no idea of what happened to it. This resulted in me being repeatedly asked for the voucher by at least 4 staff members, including the person who had initially taken it as soon as I arrived!!
Egg tart (inedible) instead of coconut or mango pudding, cheaper for them. A cheap backstreet restaurant in a high class building. Not recommended to other.
Fat Buddha is in a brilliant location on the top floor of the Queen Victoria Building. It has big beautiful windows which I imagine would bring in lots of lovely light on a nice day (unfortunately it was raining hard when we were there). The food was a high standard (we had yum cha). The staff seemed quite flustered and a bit confused and sometimes got snappy with each other. Considering they have daily yum cha I was a little perplexed as to how they took a lot of time clearing plates (you need lots of room for yum cha!) and we did make a particular order 3 times before it was delivered. It was fine, we werent in a hurry, but lets just say I dont think their systems work very well front of house - whatever is happening in the kitchen is very good though! Most restaurants that offer yum cha are run like well oiled machines but this is not one of them. Perhaps dinner would be better option.
Quite good service, in a traditional Chinese setting in the loVely old QVB, but choice of Yum Cha was limited which was a bit disappointing.
The service and food was very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Although I booked on the internet they did not seem to have it when we arrived. I said my name and number in the party but had no record of it. Nonetheless, we were shown to a table and all was well.
one of the lady waitress provided the worst dining service i've ever had in Sydney. refuse to let us sit a small table while literally no one in the restaurant except us. Rude and extremely inattentive, when asking for some water she ll just yell! Sad to see such a good location feature such terrible staff!
Didn't accept my cudo voucher, despite me advising this when I first arrived. They told me it couldn't be used halfway during the meal after they'd served up the food. Hair found on mango pancakes which topped the restaurant experience I've ever had in Sydney City. This is a great restaurant if you enjoy poor customer service, communication and unhygenic dining experiences.
The food was ok but I think they were very understaffed. We asked for the same things multiple times and we were offered dessert before we'd been given all the other food that was part of the deal we'd paid for. Then when we were ready for dessert they said that there was none left of what they'd previously offered us.
Value for money, pleasant ambiance but maybe wait staff were a bit pushy in bringing out the food all at once as yum cha some of it went cold by the time we got to it. Overall execellent
