Melbourne’s gluten-free foodies are rejoicing at the arrival of this exciting Brighton restaurant, serving up a delicious menu of dishes catering to diners with all sorts of restricted diets. The extensive menu has tasty options to suit all tastes and requirements, drawing in crowds from all over the area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Making a reservation at this hotspot on Martin Street is recommended.
Whether you are a gluten-free eater or not, you’re sure to be delighted with the menu over at Brighton’s Fox In The Box. Here you’ll find a wide range of Italian dishes with some Australian influences too, all cooked without gluten, wheat or onion. Pop in to this Melbourne restaurant for lunch when you can chow down on a gourmet sandwich – our favourite is the Italian rosemary-infused pork belly with tomato and baby spinach or rocket – or you could try one of the pastas that are so tasty you’d never believe that they’re gluten free.
At dinnertime indulge in the Fox In The Box’s famous chicken schnitzel (chicken breast corn-floured, lightly fried and coated with homemade bread crumbs and served with a curry infused mayo) or the equally as delicious veggie eggplant option (lightly caramelised aubergine with silverbeet pesto and parma). With options to suit a number of diets, whether it’s gluten-free, lactose-free, fructose-free or vegan, Fox In The Box on Martin Street in Melbourne’s Brighton area fills up quick so be sure to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
The food was wonderful. My gluten free, lactose free girlfriend was spoilt for choice and finally decided on the Calamari because it was something she had been unable to have anywhere else. Unfortunately the iItalian Lemon Meringue tart was unavailable so we settled on a Vegan Vanilla Slice, also yummy. Thank you for giving her a wonderful birthday lunch!
Good food, but service very slow. Waitress was polite & attentive. Chef/owner came to enquire how enjoyed the meal. Apologised for slow service. Good coffee.
