The food was really delicious. The service was a bit slow at times and not as attentive as I’d liked, e.g, they brought out the tea at the end without the milk I’d ordered, so I had to wait for them to bring it out and also they didn’t bring the water I’d ordered. So, this restaurant would have good potential with a few improvements. They should also more clearly state on their website that they are BYO only, to avoid confusion. The website just says BYO wine and beer.

The recent change of management at Il Sogno, has been superb. Chef Todd very ably assisted by Will are continuing to offer an amazing menu. The food is always fresh , generous and delightfully presented. Front of house is very capably managed with delightful young staff. A very fine local dining experience, with B Y O a bonus.

Food good,service could be sharpened up,ie, unused wine glasses left on table far too long, used plates slow to be removed, dessert menu, slow to come. Will come back.

The restaurant has new management and at first we were skeptical, but the food was excellent, and service was warm and friendly. I think there may be very little tweaking to come in some areas, the young waitress was very sweet and helpful and I feel they are all finding their feet still. Will definitely be going again.

Food was amazing! Very generous servings of high quality food. Probably the best pork belly ever! Ash has paid tribute to the original Il Sogno owners but has considered small things - such as printing specials of the day - as the board is so far away from front tables. All of our food was exceptional! Thank you to Ash and the team. Il Sogno continues to reign supreme!

This was my 3rd visit since november, each time with a different group, and it’s been consistently great. I noticed the ownership has changed last year, but the new owners are really lovely and soft spoken. Thankfully, the food hasn’t changed at all—new owner assured they kept the same chef who has been working for 10 years or so. I had the pork rib eye and it somehow tasted evenbetter than before. The staff are friendly and make the whole experience pleasant. Definitely coming back and recommend to others.

This was our regular special occasion restaurant. It has changed hands recently and is not the same. While there were plenty of staff they didn't seem to be coordinated very well. We hope this is only a teething problem. The food is still good. BYO is still available.

We went because we had a good food giftcard, unfortunately we couldn't use it due to a swap in restaurant management. The restaurant is quaint and a bit dated but has a special charm. The food is really beautiful, particularly the ragu papardelle. Beware that we could only get coke or mineral water, that's about the extent of the drink list. There's a bottle shop a few steps a way and you can byo.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants, but the food was a little off the usual quality that I have come to expect, just a few corners that were "cut". Perhaps it's January and people are still in holiday mode.

The staff were friendly and pleasant, however, it has changed owners since our last visit, and the chief is not as good. My cannelloni was more like a crepe, and the pork and sage filling looked and tasted more like a bolognese. My partner's meal was sitting quite an oily sauce. Not sure we will be going back!!

It was our second visit in a week. Pre Xmas is a busy time for diners and restaurants. The restaurant was full but the service was still spot on. Our meals were excellent… again! Il Sogno is BYO and that’s a plus as well.

We have visited Il Sogno several times and the quality still continues to amaze us. It is a sensibly limited menu so what they do is excellent. Service is friendly, aware and not fawning. The physical presence is not glamorous but comfortable and understated. Prices are about the same as comparable venues. More expensive than pubs but you get what you pay for. We will return, with friends and will spread the word. Great chefs and good management.

Food reasonable, service poor. Place was packed, seems to have a strong local following. Suspect we got bumped from our booked quiet corner table for a regular.
