The food was nice - very modern and unique. They use expensive ingredients like sea urchin and wagyu which really does steep up the price though.

The food was soooo good. The Tempura soft crab entree was amazing. We also had pork and veg dumplings that were so tender. mains were the Beef ribs, crispy skin Salmon and some lobster meat tacos - it was all so delicious. We will def be back!

Inattentive service and waited one hour for our food only for them to say that they've run out of the dish. Also, dishes come staggeringly? and takes too long ...

Great service - unobtrusive but efficient and obliging. The menu showed a variety of styles, including more traditional as well as innovative Japanese cuisine. Loved the taco's!

Beautiful food, great service. What more do you need? I’m coeliac (gluten intolerant) & the went out of their way to give me gluten free options including miso. They are extensive gluten free options on the menu anyway.

Surprising Japanese cuisines I have ever had. I love all the Uni dishes. Only one recommendation would be the foie gras risotto to be less salty. Overall it was a nice experience and I would be back soon.

Fabulous well presented food and excellent service. Highlights included the spicy salmon tartare and the mixed sashimi platter. We've been here several times and it's never failed to delight.

Sashimi wasn’t as fresh as I’ve expected. The service provided wasn’t really good and I’m not fully satisfied with it. The food was just alright but other Japanese restaurants could do better than them.

This used to be one of our favourite Japanese restaurants, however, we won't be returning. The quality of the food has reduced, while prices have gone up. Quite sad what had happened. Staff are still as attentive as ever though.

Great food and wonderfully presented food. The miso cod was cooked to perfection, the udon was tasty and the panna cotta had a perfect consistency.

We went there for father's day and had a perfect night. My 3yo son loves the machi tacos so have to come back. Good food, good service!

Food is very nice and fresh but the table is bit too close to each other which kind make it a bit crowd overall its worth to go

Food is great and the staff is friendly. The only downside is price is a bit overpriced, it is the same as any fine dining restaurant. Roughly $70-80 pp.

Machi is a great local St Kilda restaurant. Excellent friendly service and the sharing seafood platter was superb. I would recommend a visit to anyone.

The food was delicious. I am pregnant so delivering something good without raw food and raw eggs is difficult. But the waitress was very kind to accommodate and the food came out amazing. I'll definitely come back when I'm NOT pregnant because there were other dishes that looked divine!
