About Manta Restaurant

The views out over Sydney harbour from Manta’s Cowper Wharf Roadway premises only underline this well-known Woolloomooloo seafood restaurant’s philosophy – to stay close to the source, know their suppliers, and know precisely when the fish was caught. The same goes for the other ingredients that make their way into Manta’s dishes, with owner Rob Rubis maintaining a farm to table ethos that mandates the use of produce sourced from his family’s own farm and, for example, beef from Australian Grassfed Meats, guaranteeing hormone-free and grass-fed cuts. Head chef Daniel Hughes is similarly passionate, knowing the source of everything that makes it into his kitchen, from the potatoes through to the chocolate. As for the food itself, Manta are famed for their oysters, but it’s true that everything on the restaurant’s menu has a pedigree that’s the envy of other Sydney restaurants. Perfect for casual dining or private hire, Manta is one venue that deserves every gourmet’s reservation.

The service is always great 👍 Great atmosphere great views great for people watching. The food is sensational especially the octopus and don't forget to try the lamb rack and a glass of Penfolds bin 150, you will not be disappointed.

Food was delicious, the service great. Seated outside on the wharf looking over to the city was just perfect for a dinner out with out of state friends visiting. We really showed off a great Sydney restaurant!

We visited on a busy Saturday night but even allowing for that the service fell short of expectations. After we had ordered our meal the main course appeared before our starter, not a good start. The starter when it did arrive was very good. The main course when that arrived was not as hot as it should have been which made us think that it was the main course they'd originally brought out although like the starter the main was very nice

Garfish was wafer thin and I was told aoili was on the side and it wasn't Didn't like the wine that was recommended and waitress not happy about exchanging it

The food and the service is good but when I try to pay the bill, the senior waitress wasn't very professional and polite. But everything else is good.
