Great food but not-so-friendly staff. The robots are cool but they looked pretty dirty. We always feel that Matsumoto could use larger tables - if you order a fair few dishes to share, there's just no room to put everything!

The food was good but the lighting was very bright which ruined the atmosphere, made it feel like a food court. Prefer how it used to look and feel.

Three of us shared a delicious array of excellent seafood dishes plus vegetarian fried rice.

It was my first time going to Matsumoto. We got to sit in a cozy booth. At the table there’s a code you can scan to do the ordering which is very convenient. We got some sushi and also the chicken katsu curry don. They have these little machines that comes out with your food, so cute! Food was tasty.

It was good and would have been really good except for entrees and mains coming together and although it was rectified it felt a little awkward.

The food and service were very good. We especially liked the fact that there was no noisy/unpleasant background "music", which there seems to be at many restaurants.

Always enjoy our family meals st Matsumoto. I noted that there was a maximum number of 20 diners on Sunday night which meant it wasn’t too noisy or crowded.

Matsumoto have gone with QR codes and robot waiters. This has meant a new floor and a sparser atmosphere. Despite the automation, there was a 10% service charge for weekend and public holiday! Food is still good however.

Seems to have lost a lot of its character and appeal in recent years. The renovation a few years back has left it with a cold feeling, app ordering and robots mean little interaction with staff (who used to be lovely), and the portion sizes have seriously shrunk! Spring rolls used ti be 6-8 in a serve, now 5. Gyoza, the same. You used to get a little dish of pickled vegetables on arrival, and now that’s gone. A real shame. Overall the food was solid, but the experience was definitely lacklustre compared to past years, and the value for money much reduced.

It was fine, I would stick with the sushi over the more substantial dishes. Just too saucy and salty.

It lacks personal service.so if thats what you are after it definitely lacks.if you like robots delivering your food than this place is for you.

Lacks the care and atmosphere of a real japanese restaurant. Quality has dropped. But that said good personal service. Robots diver the food which is good fun. Nasu degaku and chicken karate enjoyable. Rest of menu (didn't have any sushi) so so. Needs a tidy up

It’s a state of art dining experience however the e-menu should be more user friendly. The staff should approach us and offer any help when we are struggling to utilise the e-menu. The food is A-maz-ING. We didn’t need to wait very long to be serve with sumptuous food. It’s hot and healthy. We expect more vegetarian and vegan choices. The staff are friendly and helpful on need basis. Highly recommend for any Japanese lovers in Brunswick.

Food was tasty, requested to not sit near door so got stuck near register other tables were available.

Excellently prepared and presented Japanese food. The QR code ordering worked well and the prices represent good value for money. The delivery robots look a bit like Daleks but neither of them said "exterminate" so I didn't worry.

Good food but the service was really poor especially because now there is a robot helping the staff and there is no interaction. It doesn’t help to improve the quality of the service

Fiirst vist but wont be the last. Amazing food and flavours favourites was the yakitori and teriyaki beef.

Friendly staff & great food make this a restaurant you want to come back to. Hard to beat the deluxe sushi & sashimi ‘boat’ for fresh seafood & wow factor although the unagi sushi is delicious as well. Try the yakatori entree, just yum!
