Located on Mollison Street, Mu’ooz Eritrean Restaurant and Catering is bringing the flavours of Eritrea to West End. In Tigrinya, the language of Eritrea, Mu’ooz means ‘tasty and healthy’, and that is exactly how the cuisine served up here can be described, with a menu of traditional dishes like barai (a spicy beef or chicken curry flavoured with berbere, onion, tomato, garlic and tesmi). Not only is the food delicious, but Mu’ooz Eritrean Restaurant and Catering is a not for profit organisation, committed to helping African refugee women build their confidence and break down cultural and language barriers by giving them work experience and employment. To guarantee a table at Mu’ooz Eritrean Restaurant and Catering, making a reservation ahead of time is recommended.
This restaurant is always our favourite- delicious food with a nice atmosphere and good service plus contributing to a good cause. Love this place so much!
We had the vegetarian platter for 4 people. Everything was great. Our the highlights were the mushrooms and the lentils. Really lovely food and staff.
Really great service and delicious food for a very good price. The share platter was a great way to have lunch with friends, thank you
Amazing! Such fantastic food. Tried three vegetarian dishes with the shared plate and they were all so tasty. The food flavour is like nothing else and the enjera is to die for. Highly recommend
Despite some initial confusion regarding our booking time I had booked 6.30pm which had been confirmed yet Mu'ooz had us down at 7.30pm! The food was very tasty and as a group of 8 we chose the platter option allowing us to select a variety of dishes to taste them all. Everyone enjoyed the meal and those who had wine were pleased with it and everyone said that it was good value. this is our second visit and we will be back!
This was an experience that was coloured by the wonderful effort that these refugee woman are making a bid for independence. I sat out in the garden area with friends and the whole evening was pleasant. the food reflected the Eritrean background and was tasty and well presented and well priced. Definitely worth a visit and support. Go Mu'Oz.
