Okami - Camberwell

We have visited many of the Okami restaurants in Melbourne, this was the first time at the Camberwell location - it was a major disappointment. The wait times for food here were unacceptable - even the very first order took a ridiculous amount of time to be served. But the worst thing about the Camberwell branch is that EVERY single dish was served COLD. Cold miso steak, cold eggplant, cold chicken, cold everything. How on earth is it so cold when it took so long to be served? I'm not sure what's happening in the kitchen but this is an issue that need to be fixed. Cold food that is supposed to be hot is very unpleasant to eat. The staff here are also not very friendly. Okami is an absolutely amazing franchise offering exceptional value for money, and every other visit to the other locations has been 10/10 - but Camberwell was a total let down - waste of time and money.

Camberwell restaurant - Absolutely delicious food and plenty of it. Excellent, gracious attention by all staff. We have visited 4 times in the last 3 weeks!

Great food and great service. Highly recommend the potato croquettes, chicken karate, eggplant, beef carpaccio and prawn gyoza. I would come back again for more

Delicious food and had a great time catching up with girlfriends. The sushi was fresh and the plate of prawns were very tasty. Favorite was the green tea ice cream for dessert.

Amazing! Definitely coming back :) the food was exceptional and the fact that it’s BYO is awesome. Definitely try the squid salad and octopus balls.

Great atmosphere and food was absolutely delicious. Love the new renovations especially the wall painting. Would suggest to dim the lighting a little - bright lighting gave me a small headache

Food was ok. Not great as far as Japanese goes.. but if you like to eat a lot and are not after authenticity Okami works well.

The place looks new and clean after the renovation. The food was fresh and of good standard. The service was prompt and friendly, plus a great smile.

Delicious!! The sushi sashimi plate isn’t worth having as they’re quite stingy with the fish but over the top with the rice to get u full so u obviously fill yourself up and can’t eat much.

The food is great and normally the service is too but last night it was really slow and they did not come to the table until you call them.

The food was great, staff lovely, good value. We are regular diners at Okami, we’re never disappointed. Highly recommend Okami to anyone who loves Japanese.

Here we first time in nice built small new place at Okami in Camberwell. Good fresh, chunky piece of tasty. A perfect place for eat all the sushi or some hot foods do you want. Service quick. BUT one problem is RICE a bit hard. We went to Doncaster and Wantirna compares here is better freshly. So don’t be excited. Good flavour.

Menu dishes are very limited! Not many choices what to eat. Only cons: claiming it's a Japanese dishes but Sushi rice was too hard and compacted, rice needs to be fluffy and soft in your mouth. Meat dishes were good !

This restaurant is always a winner for my family. We've been dinning here for couple of years now. We keep coming back to their "all you can eat" menu. The food have been very consistent in quality, cooked freshly and is very tasty. Their staff are always very polite, courteous and they bring the food to the table really quick, even in busiest times.

Such a grew concept- choose your food from the menu and order as much as you would like for a set price. Good food too. We enjoyed everything we tried.

Okami is a lovely restaurant, serving delicious yet simply Japanese food. Compliments to the chief! :) Definitely value for money. The waiters are friendly & service is quick.

Always good food, but the new chef has decided to coat the gyoza with chilli oil. No thank you! Unusually very noisy on the night. Waitress was a little disrespectful, maybe a misunderstanding, who knows. Service was very slow.

Love coming back to this place again and again. It’s great value and the food is delicious. Love the Mt Fuji mural and zen rock garden wall.

It is all you can eat. It has quite good Japanese food. You order what you want so it is cooked fresh for you. It even has dessert ice cream.

This would have to be the best okarmi restaurant I have been to. The food was great, service excellent and great night out. The staff were polite and went out of their way for us.
