OKAMI - Caulfield

We were very disappointed with Okami. First of all entrance to shop was filthy. Food was thrown at you and it was not very nice or appetising. Will tell my friends not to go there . $5.80 for a glass of coke is ridiculous. We won't go to Okami again.

They were understaffed which we understood but we didn't receive it back.

To be honest, the service has gone downhill significantly compared to other Okami restaurants. I would much rather go to Brighton or Camberwell. Food is still pretty decent.

Great way to catch up with friends, share anything on the menu if there are no dietary requirements and best of all don't worry about who had what when it comes to paying the bill.

The food is consistently great tasting and good value for money. However like every hospitality venue of late, staff are hard to come by so service is delayed.

Went for end of year work dinner with our staff. Okay food . Customer service could be better- it’s like customer’s requests are bothering them . The combination means we won’t be back. our staff are well trained in customer service themselves - they can see now why it’s impossible

We frequently dine here as one of our favourite family friendly restaurants. The food is always good value. That’s why we were disappointed when we had to constantly reorder food that never arrived, special requests for a child that is a picky eater was ignored, and some of the quality of the food has deteriorated slightly. Surprising the restaurant was less than full, being a Thursday night, and we left less than satisfied.

First time Okami diners! Tbh when we first walked in we were hit with the smell of urine and then seated just a short distance from where the smell was emitting at the front (also where food was being prepped.) For a buffet, it was nice! The cooked prawn & sashimi were pretty good, the chicken karage was basically fried chicken skin/fat, the beef was probably the best! Teriyaki & Yakiniku beef! The beef & sliced veges in garlic were drenched in oil but no different from other places. The potato croquettes were wonderful too! Overall, it could have been a 4 stars, especially given seafood is usually a hit or miss - so far no bubble guts! The siumai was pretty trash but it was nice that most of the plates came with side salads. Our service was pretty half n half, when we were served it was done so with perfect mannerisms however the time it took for our food to arrive was pretty slack, either singularly or sometimes not at all so resorted to ordering 3 items at a time so as to at least have something coming at any given time - we noted the impeccable service given to other patrons and chalked it up to being 2 ppl vs a group of 3 and a large family gathering, not acceptable but explainable. So we essentially ordered food, waited a longer time in comparison to other diners (5-10mins max with sometimes food not coming at all) and was served 1 plate at a time when they did come. We were pretty rushed towards the last half hour too. We paid just under $100 for 2 + 4x drinks = Overall, for a super baked foodiegal, I’d probably go here once a year or two.

We had a great time at OKAMI Caulfield!! The service was fantastic! The food was great! Konichiwa, OKAMI!! In fact, it was so good, that I'm going to OKAMI in Caroline Springs with a friend tomorrow!!

Very accommodating and lovely for our large group family booking

This is our 5th time to okami but we always go to Brunswick one but this time bec my friends would like t to try we went to visit them and went o Caulfield one bec it was the closest to them. Service was very slow . When my son wanted to order some ice cream one particular male staff said kitchen is close it was 7.04pm. No one said kitchen shut 7pm. For a ice cream chef doesn’t need to serve that. We had 26 mins before one seating suppose to finish. When I told him no one told us about closing time and all he finally served us with some ice cream but not happy we have to argue about it. Also we didn’t even noticed on our way they have charged my son as adult when he is only 11. Normally bris wick staff come and as how old are the kids. Nothing asked they have just charged. We probably won’t try Caulfield okami again

Lots of options to choose from. Affordable and delicious. Was quite loud in the restaurant and sometimes it would take a little while for the food to come out, but once things got rolling our bellies were super satisfied. Great overall experience.
