Waited for more than 30mins before first entree was served. In a table of 4 adults,food portions were not even enough for one adult. Food was sooo lukewarm,food service in- between was a nightmare. Just not a good experience compared to the other Okami patronised in the past. Will not return to Whittlesea. Food taste is 3/5, Service is 1/5.

The food itself is wonderful, can’t fault it. Just the actual ordering was frustrating and slow because they were shortstaffed. Overall it’s a great special treat that’s local.

Was disappointed with when we asked to move seats as cooler was under us and they said no as other spots where for 5 ppl. Then when more ppl came in a group of two sat where we could have moved! And lots empty spots the whole time we where there

There seemed to be a short staff roster. The restaurant was not overly busy, but as customers left, tables were not cleared, in fact our party of six were left with piles of used dishes as each new order arrived. At one stage we counted 7 vacated tables with dishes still uncollected. Staff on duty tried, ut it was obviously too overwhelming.

Understaffed, inefficient, overworked staff. The staff always had a smile though and were always busy working. They were very polite. Just needed more staff.

Some dishes seemed forgotten and long wait. Was this on purpose so we ran out of time to order more food, I’ve never left Okami and still felt like I could eat something else before

Very poor. Our party of 4 regularly frequent Okami restaurants over a number of locations, and this was by far our most negative experience. Having worked in retail and hospitality, we are probably more patient and understanding than most when it comes to wait times etc but no effort for communication was made to let us know about kitchen delays, instead we were left to wait ridiculous times for tiny portions that were delivered to the table one plate at a time. Other tables with less people were being served the same amount of food (if not more) than we were and it wasn't until we were served a chicken katsu with literally one mouthful of food for each member of the table that we asked to speak to a manager. It took for us to complain for the portion sizes to become reasonable for a table of 4 to share and for numerous plates of food to be delivered at once. Credit to Joan for coming to our table and rectifying the situation, but by that point we were almost ready to walk out. If tonight was my first Okami experience, I would never be returning.

Ive never tried sake before so it was a treat, food came out at the right pace, the mocktail was a lovely finish to the night, food was cooked very well, as a generally vegan person there was lots of options

There were not enough floor staff to service the customers, we couldn't get any service following our initial order. We waited for at least 20 minutes and ended up having to approach staff at the counter for our second round of orders. The food portion servings were also not enough for 7 people, they were enough for two. Really disappointed with the experience. The food was good, and the standard we have come to know. But the experience means we won't return to Okami Whittlesea.

The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The food was all delicious and well presented and cooked to perfection. It would be good if they checked on us a bit more frequently to see if we needed water / drinks / more food.

Everything was good, great first experience. I do wish that we could at least have 1 drink (not water) included in the price, and other drinks after at extra cost.

Despite not being a busy night service was very slow tonight. Not the usual on the ball of staff with taking orders and bringing out food promptly. I am a regular at Okami and I noticed tonight the portions seemed to be smaller yet the price per head has increased. Staff were still friendly enough but wasn't one of the best nights to be honest.

It was our 11 year olds Birthday. He chose Okami. The food was lovely, the service wad a good speed and we didn't feel rushed at all. Thank you :-)
