Okami - Whittlesea

Food was great! Friend and I go monthly and have never walked out upset about service or food!

We have been going to Okami for years and have always loved it. Our experience this visit was terrible. They seem to have new staff who were all rude, a new ordering system which meant half our orders didn’t come through. We waited 55 minutes for sushi and then left still hungry because nothing else came. I sent them a complaint and received a response with absolutely no apology. Unfortunately we won’t be going back to what used to be a favourite.

A great place to eat. All you can eat option is the winner! So many delicious dishes to choose from and they just keep coming. I kept eating mains while my wife ate dessert 😁

Service was slow, didn't get all that we ordered, portions are smaller but prices gone up. Everything has gone downhill., use to be excellent in everything.

Customer Service and Food were absolutely fantastic! We were somewhat disappointed as the food took an extremely long time to come out, and portion sizes were barely enough for one person so we had to keep ordering, which took a long time. As great as the service was from the young team, we’re unlikely to return to the Whittlesea restaurant.

Half the food we ordered didn't arrive, the drinks were hot, and service was very slow.

Food was cold, and staff were batching orders rather than bringing food directly out when it was ready. Whole restaurant was sold out of desert, and we didn’t get several dishes that we ordered

We adore the food at Okami and have been coming back for years. Although, we ordered using the QR code and a lot of our food came after an hour wait or didn’t arrive at all. Probably not worth the amount we spent.

All of the chairs were ripped. Service was mostly good. Had to cancel drink order as it wasn’t done before we were ready to leave. Food was good as always, although it could have been hotter. It seemed you were under staffed?

The food wasn't as good as the last time I went which was a bit disappointing. You were short staffed but the young lady taking all the orders (Maddison) was amazing. She was run off her feet but remained pleasant and polite all night.

Will return! A favourite of family and our friends we took!

Food really good value for money, fresh and prepared well. Feels a little short staffed with waitstaff. We love Okami for the food and value so will be back.

The foods provided are no longer Japanese foods, they were more Australianised Japanese foods.

Food very good and service very attentive until end of dining when all staff were concentrating totally on clean up (it was 8pm). No staff approached our table any more and I was anticipating the offer of dessert but this did not happen. I had to approach kitchen for this and then once bill was paid it was revealed that we were ignored due to a ‘comment/complaint’ made by another diner against a person at my table, unbeknown to any of us. Disappointing end to a pleasant evening as a result of a completely innocent misinterpreted incident.

Very good food was good and service was good too

Food was beautiful. Staff very helpful. The Chairs definitely need an upgrade. Mine was very torn , and I was sitting directly on the foam inside the chair, and my skirt got dirty. Many other Chairs were torn too. Apart from the ripped chair 10/10.

Lovely people, always great food. Hardly any wait for anything. not super busy on a sunday night which is fantastic.

My friend and I were going here monthly for our kid free lunches and every time we went it’s always great food and friendly staff

Whilst the food was nice when we ordered our first round of meals for 4 people we only received one small dish in the first 30 minutes. Had to go up to the kitchen and point out our problem. After that the waitress completely ignored us for the rest of the night and the Chef tried to rectify by bringing some of the ordered meals out. We had to try and catch the attention of the only other waitress to order drinks etc and have empty plates removed. Frustrating as the food was quit nice but we spent a long time waiting between drinks and food being served. The wait staff need to be better trained.
