Okami - Whittlesea

Food was cold, and staff were batching orders rather than bringing food directly out when it was ready. Whole restaurant was sold out of desert, and we didn’t get several dishes that we ordered

We adore the food at Okami and have been coming back for years. Although, we ordered using the QR code and a lot of our food came after an hour wait or didn’t arrive at all. Probably not worth the amount we spent.

All of the chairs were ripped. Service was mostly good. Had to cancel drink order as it wasn’t done before we were ready to leave. Food was good as always, although it could have been hotter. It seemed you were under staffed?

Food was great, staff was fantastic. Kids loved it heaps

The food wasn't as good as the last time I went which was a bit disappointing. You were short staffed but the young lady taking all the orders (Maddison) was amazing. She was run off her feet but remained pleasant and polite all night.

Will return! A favourite of family and our friends we took!

Food really good value for money, fresh and prepared well. Feels a little short staffed with waitstaff. We love Okami for the food and value so will be back.

The foods provided are no longer Japanese foods, they were more Australianised Japanese foods.

Food very good and service very attentive until end of dining when all staff were concentrating totally on clean up (it was 8pm). No staff approached our table any more and I was anticipating the offer of dessert but this did not happen. I had to approach kitchen for this and then once bill was paid it was revealed that we were ignored due to a ‘comment/complaint’ made by another diner against a person at my table, unbeknown to any of us. Disappointing end to a pleasant evening as a result of a completely innocent misinterpreted incident.

Very good food was good and service was good too

Food was beautiful. Staff very helpful. The Chairs definitely need an upgrade. Mine was very torn , and I was sitting directly on the foam inside the chair, and my skirt got dirty. Many other Chairs were torn too. Apart from the ripped chair 10/10.

Lovely people, always great food. Hardly any wait for anything. not super busy on a sunday night which is fantastic.

My friend and I were going here monthly for our kid free lunches and every time we went it’s always great food and friendly staff

Whilst the food was nice when we ordered our first round of meals for 4 people we only received one small dish in the first 30 minutes. Had to go up to the kitchen and point out our problem. After that the waitress completely ignored us for the rest of the night and the Chef tried to rectify by bringing some of the ordered meals out. We had to try and catch the attention of the only other waitress to order drinks etc and have empty plates removed. Frustrating as the food was quit nice but we spent a long time waiting between drinks and food being served. The wait staff need to be better trained.

Staff were very lovely however they struggled with how busy it was. We waited 1.5 hours for a component of our order and often had to wait 20+ minutes for other food. They really struggled. They all looked very stressed and were constantly apologizing because they knew they weren't managing. It's all good and well to have lots of reservations but if you end up having tressed staff and unhappy customers it's not worth it.

Service was extremely slow despite only half the restaurant being full, when food did come out the portions were that small that the tiny plates they come on looked huge, the food was over cooked and at best warm…..the price has gone up but the quality and quantity has dropped, can’t believe how downhill it’s gone since last time

Service was good, food was ok. Multiple items we ordered at different times just never came. Portions were really small in comparison to the last few times we been. Food quality and portions definitely change depending on what store you visit. Don’t think we’ll be back unfortunately.

We love okami restaurants and are regular visitors. Food cook fresh and delicious.
