You won’t find many better spots than on Marina Pier, looking back across Glenelg Beach and out across the glistening breakwater. You also don’t find many better selections of steaks than at Outback Jacks, so it seems to make sense that these two come together at this Australian grill favourite in west Adelaide. Parked on Holdfast Promenade, Outback Jacks Glenelg has pride of place for phenomenal coastal views – but the real star of this show is the food. For starters there’s plenty of it, with dinosauric portions of juicy ribs, succulent steaks and behemoth burgers (their amazing Wagyu burger is well known around the country), but it’s not only a protein hit you can look forward to at Outback Jacks as they have a range of exciting and healthy salads, classic pastas, a lengthy kids menu, dainty sharing plates and a whole lot more.
Great food, friendly efficient service. Highly recommend to anyone who loves American style BBQ, with a bit of an aussie twist. Great steak and ribs.
My partner and I come for our anniversary and we could not recommend a better place. Great food, great service (everyone was so friendly and helpful) and just an all round good experience, throughly recommend 😊
Seated near the door on the sea side. Great view and served very quickly.Food was plentiful and delicious.Husband had chicken schnitzel and I had breast is best, which it was.All in all an enjoyable lunch
Fantastic, clean, friendly staff. Food was cooked perfectly. Family friendly as we had 3 year old with us. Kids menu was great and the meal was delivered with our entree so we could all enjoy our night
The food was great, no complaints at all from anyone in our party. On the most part the service was great too however, we were informed once we got there that there is no split bills. Nowhere on the online menu, or on the menu in store did it state that. The first staff member I spoke to explained this to me, & we worked out between us that we could all order & pay for drinks at the bar as we went, & then we could split the food bill between up to 4 payments/parties. This worked out perfectly for us, as we had 4 groups within our party. However, there was a another female staff member who then told me we couldn't split the bill, I told her what we'd worked out with the other staff member but she said flat out .....NO, we couldn't do it. Fair enough if you don't do it, but I would suggest you give people advance notice.
Great service, with very polite and attentive servers. The prices were a little over the top for a steak that was nothing out of the ordinary. The burgers were huge and were very well received. The Bourbon Pork spare ribs were the biggest let down as they were not as meaty as they could have been and were quite fatty. They were still very flavoursome but the meat was more sparse than I have experienced in the past. Still a great family night out with great sunset views of the beach.
Outback jacks was a great experience for me and my family , not always easy to go for dinner with children aged 1 and 3 , but the staff at outback jacks Glenelg really made it much easier , nothing was too much trouble .
They had less than a 1/4 of their tables filled when we arrived but it still took at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter to tell us which reserved table was ours. Once seated they bought our drinks out pretty quickly but then we waited another 15 minutes to have our order taken and only when we had called a waiter over. Entrees came out pretty quickly and we're delicious! Mains came not long after but we're really disappointing, the steak was medium to well done when we both asked for medium rare (you would assume a steak house could cook their steak properly) the chips were clearly the cheapest frozen brand they could buy and the gravy (which costs an additional 2.95 was really bland, and a tiny tiny serving) we had both eaten half and then moved our plates to the other side of the table so it was pretty clear we were done. Another 20 minutes went by and not so much eye contact from and waiter. I stood at the bar for another 5 minutes waiting to pay seeing as no one bothered to clear our table or even asked if we wanted a desert menu. All in all I was really disappointed that we spent $100 there and had such a dismal experience. It's not that hard to make eye contact with a customer and say "I'll be right with you". Staff stood behind the bar less than 3 meters away from me and made customers feel like somehow we were putting them out. Next time I'll go to hogs breath
I felt sorry for the only staff member there expected to wait on everyone at lunch time on a Friday not good enough. (I will say did a great job) Ordered a steak well done wiv garlic prawns in which states on the menu takes 45min, mine arrived 15min after ordering, it was chewy the garlic sauce was lumpy & to my discust the mash potato was a powder mix (deb). The glasses werent washed properly leaving lipstick around the rim. My daughters salt/pepper squid was rushed & way too peppery. Overall spending $130 (which i never spend that much on lunch being on a disability) we walked away disheartened. Salad was fresh with a lovely dressing.
We enjoyed our meal at Outback Jacks. We tried the crocodile and kangaroo skewers which were rather tough and tasteless but came with a nice tasty sauce. The service was quick and efficient and the environment pleasant. Our main meals were tasty, well cooked and presented.
