Squires Loft - Williamstown

The steak is amazing but I find the prices a bit high. Its annoying that sauce & sides are extras. But it is definitely worth a visit & great for a special occasion.

Staff were friendly, food was good. I would recommend they update their drinks menu. We ordered a couple of drinks from the menu and the waitress said they didn’t stock them anymore and that she didn’t know why it was still on the menu

Quick service, lovely meal, easy to book a table online. . Recommended, but not cheap.

It’s an incredibly loud venue. Acoustics are terrible and with a couple of large groups in it was pretty unbearable. Definitely not a pleasant ambience. The baked mushrooms have gotten smaller and smaller over the last few years, they actually looked like the size of champignons and the servings seemed to have reduced.Service was attentive and pleasant but there was a muck up with the wine with our waiter quoting $60 for a bottle only to be charged $90 at the end of the night, but this was swiftly fixed up by the manager. Steak was lovely as always but I just didn’t enjoy the experience this time round. Will give this restaurant a break for a little while.

Good steak very tasty and cooked to perfection. Just be mindful they dont have kids menu. I think the price is reasonable for quality steak.

Just love this place, has to be the best value for money steak around town. We say it every time that the steaks are the best. Staff are very friendly, the basement gives a great atmosphere to the restaurant.

It was my first time at the Williamstown location, and I have heard a lot of great things about their steaks, so I used this opportunity to organise a Christmas team lunch for my colleagues. Without a doubt, the food was great, as expected - despite the waiter getting my order incorrect. The restaurant was not busy so I thought that it would translate to good service, but I was wrong. Initially, the waiters were welcoming and warm, however, that did not last. When I spoke up about my order being incorrect, instead of apologising or offering to change my meal, the waiter claimed that I had ordered what had come out, even though the people beside me heard me clearly say something else. This was not a big deal, as I am not the type of person who would be adamant to change my order any way, but it would have been nice if they had offered. This was the moment where I realised customer service was not a strong point from the workers that day. Not only that, towards the end of our meals, after ordering a couple of drinks, we were told by a worker (with bleached blonde hair) that we had “too much to drink“ and to get water instead. I was taken back by this comment. I understand that it was 2:30pm and that the restaurant closes at 3pm, and that they were probably keen to close up, but that comment was uncalled for. I have had experience in customer service for years, and if that were me, I would have kindly reminded my customers of the closing time instead of making such a remark. I will admit that we were all having a laugh and a good time, but if volume was an issue, you would think that we would get a “hey is it alright if we turned the volume down a bit as it’s getting a bit loud here”. If that was said, then we would have understood and not have any issues. But the comment made it out as if we were loud, obnoxious and a nuisance. Moments after, we decided to leave as we refused to spend any more money to a place that made us feel uncomfortable. Personally, I am someone who caves in very easily when it comes to great customer service, I would be happy to spend my money as long as I felt that the workers are genuine and authentic. Unfortunately, after this experience, on behalf of my team and I, we are unsure whether we would want to come back, despite how much we had enjoyed our meals - which is such a shame. I would much rather explore other steak houses and pay more for the service, than to come back here where I felt like we were being judged and scrutinised for enjoying our time. I am not one to write negative reviews, but I felt that this was necessary.

Great service and well made eye fillet. Prawns were a little bland, but everything else was fine

Steak here used to be melt in your mouth, perfect - cut with a butter knife, however this time it was charcoal on the outside and rare on the inside (ordered medium) and the table actually rocked as we tried to cut it. Never been more disappointed.

Service by our waiter was exceptional. He was friendly, polite and apologetic for any delays. Although to our table this was acceptable as he was the only one serving.
