Great food, good service. Food did take a while to get out to us, but a lot of people came into the restaurant (busy weekend in Melbourne), otherwise, the food was good!

Service was terrible. Everything took a long time, candles on the balcony were not lit, we had been bought out a cake that was not ours. Guests weren't happy at all and I celebrated my 20th.

We LOVED the Blue Train. It's a friendly, funky space with delicious food. Kids are welcome and we would definitely go back. All the plates we tried were really really yummo!

Great food with lots of variety and very friendly service. The atmosphere is good however music is a little loud so difficult for hearing conversations across table.

Good food, friendly service in a great location. Background music was a little loud for easy conversation within a group of 8 on a big table, but otherwise ..excellent. 10/10 to the staff...attentive & friendly ...but seemed to be a little under pressure as the place filled with customers.

Our experience was good. We booked for 7 adults, a high chair and place for a pram, however when we arrived our group had changed to 5, so that was accommodated quickly. There was no high chair or place for a pram tho. All in all a good experience.

Great atmosphere! Delicious food! Service was good, the waitresses seemed in a rush but were pleasant enough. We ordered a platter and even though the food was very tasty we did not get everything that was described on the menu. Good value, great selection of food and drinks. Would recommend to a friend.

You're paying for quality rather than quantity - the servings are not huge but are delicious! We recommend the lamb backstrap but suggest you give the sautéed greens a miss. The prawn dumplings are great if you can tolerate chilli, and the pasta ragout is filling. Food came out fairly quickly so it's a solid choice for pre-show dining.

Good food - there will be something for everybody. Busy restaurant. Can be difficult to attract the attention of the wait staff - they need to be trained to scan the tables around them as they walk past to see whether diners may want something.

We had booked a group of 28 and was told that we'll need to be at two tables next to each other, which was fine but it ended being 3 tables so it did dampen the social interaction quite a bit for me. Other than that the food was tasty, well presented and of good quality. Service was efficient despite being a busy night for them.

Table service was fast and friendly, food (veal, meatballs, calamari and pizza) took about 45 mins. (Too long for kids to wait) Veal dish was really really salty but the salad(capsicum) it came with was really tasty. I don't think you really need a big half cooked lemon taking up the plate. The pizza was great. Limited gf options if you are with children. Staff chased up our meal and were friendly and prompt. Would not return due to limited gf options for kids. Location is great.

Good food, good prices and timely service given the size of our dining party. Would certainly book again for a similar event. Also were able to accommodate the additional members of our party who weren't on the original booking

Great staff, very attentive and helpful. Food was really yummy and reasonably priced. We had a large group and had to be in and out in just over an hour - nothing was a problem for them.Would definitely recommend Blue Train

We were cramped into a small space. Apart from that all good. Would like to see a few more chicken mains options on the menu without the inclusion of nut products.

Menu heavily advertised as gluten free. After arriving we found out the gluten free options weren't suitable for people with celiac. Disclaimers such as "may contain traces of gluten" weren't anywhere on the menu and this would've made a huge difference. If we had seen this disclaimer on the online menu, we wouldn't have booked. I know they're tapping into this 'low gluten/gluten free' trend however they're misleading people with serious gluten allergies such as celiac. Staff mentioned customers have made numerous complaints about this. Sauce ingredients were pre-packaged store bought, not made from scratch in-house, not really good enough for the prices they were charging. Staff did their best given the circumstances. Unfortunately won't be going back.

We were a party of 9. All main courses were great and the range of dishes on the menu was really good. Found the desserts pretty small for the price paid. Save for that, a good experience.

Dumplings and saganaki rocks my world. Service was only so-so this evening and is usually much better - polite, but we waited quite a bit. Will do again because they are generally so "wow".

Last night we enjoyed a delicious meal at Bluetrain. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Bluetrain is a very good option for a pre theatre meal in the south bank area.

Great vibe. Friendly service. Food is good, though perhaps not amazing, and maybe a little expensive for what it is. Had the seafood platter. It was definitely tasty, and plenty of stuff, just... Pretty good, not quite excellent...

Great levels of service and food was amazing. Much quieter on the outside balcony so that you can talk easier with friends. Waiter was great at leaving us until we called him so that we could catch up with friends.

Thank you so much to our amazing waiter, I'm sorry I don't know your name but you could see my child was struggling last night, she was crying, overtired and struggling with dinner, it was her bday and you were so patient and non judgmental with her... We appreciated this so much as you cant tell to look at her but she is Autistic and struggles with social situations.. I wish I knew your name so we could thank you! Dinner was amazing and service was even better! Thanks you for salvaging her bday and making us feel at ease.. Blue train is extremely family friendly and can't recommend highly enough! Many thanks!!!

They were understaffed on a busy night when many diners were running to a timetable - in and out in an hour. It's a pity because the food is great and in good sized portions. We left without eating.

Food was good. But we struggled to get anyone to take a coffee order after eating. After 25 min waiting without service, we decided to just leave and go elsewhere for coffee and desert.

A good variety on the menu, from a small snack to a substantial meal; and all beautifully cooked and presented at reasonable prices. Attentive staff (without being constantly at your elbow) and nice timing between drinks and courses
