Very quick and friendly service, food was great and an even better location. Great environment, definitely recommend getting a window seat to enjoy the great views

Food was very nice, tasty and presentable. The atmosphere was great - lots of people in the restaurant. We had a table along the window - great view of the river and the city.

Food was good. Unfortunately the service was terrible. I understand that we had booked for 12, but your inability to be at all flexible when we had two more guests than expected was disappointing. It was the manner in which our waitress handled the situation, which was down right rude, that was the problem. She then proceeded to be unfriendly and surly for the rest of our time there. Most disappointed.

Loved the Blue Train. There were eight of us and we all loved our meals. Service was great. We have been before for breakfast, so it was our first time for dinner. Will be going back, for sure.

Food was good and reasonably priced for the location. Loved the decor. Was a few minor issues with something on the menu not available and a slight error in one order, but overall would return.

Bluetrain has a great choice of delicious meals, the service was great. Lovely lookout over the Yarra River and the boardwalk. Would highly recommend to family, friends and visitors.

There were seven of us for dinner and we all had different choices and all meals were enjoyed. It was a meal before going to the theatre so we appreciated the efficient service.

We went for Dinner at blue train ti celebrate my sons birthday. We ordered dishes to share and even thouh they are very small portions , we found food taste so yummy. And great survice. Chocolate volcano dessert was fabulous .

The staff were very friendly and helpful the meals were excellent with the price reasonable for Southbank we would definitely recommend you try this restaurant

Great food, comfortable seating and nice environment! Friendly wait staff that happily took photos for our friends birthday and thoughtfully put a candle on her dessert!!

Cocktails are nice. Food is okay. Staff are good. Overall okay experience without being exceptional. Would have rated higher if the food quality was a little better.

The atmosphere and the wait staff and the food was good. But unfortunately it took an hour for the food to arrive and we were on our lunch break.

I always have a great time at the Blue Train. The food is good and great value, there's always a vegetarian option. The aspect over the Yarra is lovely, especially if you can snag a window table. The staff are friendly which adds to the casual atmosphere and attentive enough without fussing.

Such a wonderful environment and lovely staff. Great quality food! The process to book a table was very easy and straight forward, I booked for a group of 11 and we all had an excellent time!

We had a group of 10 for lunch - and were seated quickly and the order for drinks and food taken in an agreeable time. The food was tasty and we were all served together. However that was the end of the service. The table wasn't cleared until we finally asked and we weren't asked for more drink orders. Coffee and desert was also not forth coming. Yes I would come again, but they could do better.

Great location near the arts precinct. Great views of the Yarra River no matter where you sit due to the floor to ceiling windows. The service is very efficient. Lunch time $20 meal/drink deals as well as a children's menu.

Although the food was delicious the service was non existent with our waitress forgetting to bring us water, then the glasses and so it went on. Shame really as could be a top restaurant

I really enjoyed my experience today. The staff were friendly and helpful. All our meals turned up quickly and the pizzas were great. Although i believe they were slightly overpriced. I still had a fantastic time and enjoyed the experience.

Perfect goods, customer service and place for families and couples. Foods are very fresh and lot of varieties. prices are bit high but very happy.

Try Blue Trains curry on their share plate list. Awesome! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, reasonably priced and good location. Special mention of the French Rose too.

When we arrived the table setting was x 2 tables of 10. I had asked to be all together. Staff rectified this. We were not made to feel like we are the restaurants bread & butter, however the food was very good.

The table was ready on time, the staff were attentive but not over the top and there was a good variety of food which was good value.

Our party of 10 persons was seated at the far end of the restaurant and it felt like we were basically forgotten needing to get our own drinks and to gesture to the wait staff when we were ready to order after waiting for some time. Most of our drinks were obtained by self service journey's to the bar. Unfortunately on one of the couple of occasions we managed to get drinks delivered to the table the waitress managed to spill two stubbies of beer down my front and on my lap, shattering one of the stubbies in the process. While I understand accidents can and do happen it was the lack of effort to clean up that was disappointing. I was not offered a towel or any other means of cleaning myself and after a basic effort to clean up a large puddle of beer was left under the table as well as fragments of broken glass. It was only due to efforts but the group that the majority of the glass got cleaned away. Once again we had to seek assistance from one of the wait staff to get the puddle under the table wiped up so we weren't sitting with our feet in it. While I was not looking for compensation it was also disappointing that it was only after the issue was raised by a colleague who was quite put out by the poor response to the situation, that any effort was made to offer compensation which comprised a replacement drink and 50% off my main course. Sitting there in slowly drying, beer soaked clothes for a couple of hours was not pleasant. While the food was reasonable, the disappointing service exacerbated by a wholly inadequate response to the accidental spill made it an unpleasant experience for me and I'd be unlikely to organise another function at Bluetrain.

Great atmosphere and service. Very relaxed and amazing space to eat good food. We really enjoyed looking out the window on a sunny day in Melbourne.

I loved everything about it except one of the younger waitresses spilt drinks on the first order and then brought wrong drinks and then wanted to charge us for delivering the wrong drinks. Apart from that, it was a great night

Blue Train has good atmosphere, fast and efficient service plus an extensive menu to cover most tastes. Prices are pretty standard and the quality of food is very good.

Wednesday dinner for two people. Entrees, mains and drinks enjoyed. I had dumplings as entree and a wood-fired pizza as main and both were absolutely delicious. My friend had the vegetarian fritters to start and risotto as a main and he enjoyed both and the kitchen were accommodating with his dietary requests. I was surprised at how big the venue was… an enjoyable dinner experience :)

Nice restaurant and tasty food; although very hot when the sun was shining on the windows, and a bit expensive... The staff did not rush us out though, which was good, and booking was very easy...

Great food, good service. Food did take a while to get out to us, but a lot of people came into the restaurant (busy weekend in Melbourne), otherwise, the food was good!

Service was terrible. Everything took a long time, candles on the balcony were not lit, we had been bought out a cake that was not ours. Guests weren't happy at all and I celebrated my 20th.

Good food, friendly service in a great location. Background music was a little loud for easy conversation within a group of 8 on a big table, but otherwise ..excellent. 10/10 to the staff...attentive & friendly ...but seemed to be a little under pressure as the place filled with customers.

We LOVED the Blue Train. It's a friendly, funky space with delicious food. Kids are welcome and we would definitely go back. All the plates we tried were really really yummo!

Our experience was good. We booked for 7 adults, a high chair and place for a pram, however when we arrived our group had changed to 5, so that was accommodated quickly. There was no high chair or place for a pram tho. All in all a good experience.

Great atmosphere! Delicious food! Service was good, the waitresses seemed in a rush but were pleasant enough. We ordered a platter and even though the food was very tasty we did not get everything that was described on the menu. Good value, great selection of food and drinks. Would recommend to a friend.
