Friday lunch was a little bit of a wait for food and didn't realise that the $20 deals don't apply but food was nice and the atmosphere was good. Better to go on a Mon - Wed with the $20 lunch deals a pizza or burger plus a drink (value)

The food is very predestrian, and little over priced, quick service as we were going to the theatre

The staff were very friendly especially the gentleman who was our waiter for the evening. We celebrated a special occasion that night and the night went perfectly. We ordered the Seafood platter and told the team in advance and it was very delicious and of course appealing to the eye! Would visit again in the future. Thanks Bluetrain

The location is fabulous. The views across the city stunning the service meh . Upon arrival it took about 15 minutes to get a drink and the to catch a waiters attention was like chasing butterflies. The food took s really long time to arrive . The stuffed chicken breast served with Grattan potatoes ...the potatoes were raw in the middle my husband was beyond hungry and ate it as he feared we would still be there at midnight if he addressed the situation. My mother had the barramundi which was good she said but the veggies were again quite raw. Another person had beef cheeks liked it another had the veggie burger said it was passable. We had international guest from the visiting Canadian and USA hockey teams here and were left feeling embarrassed for the experience. Our last visit here was 5 years ago and it is now more than evident that our memories failed us.

Went to Blue train with 10 of us aged between 6 and 55 prior to going to the Ballet at the VAC. Service was great, food was good. would have liked some more time to enjoy it all but that was our issue, NOT anything that the Bluetrain staff could have changed. Will definitely go back.

Great location, service friendly and timely. Food is ok. Tasty, typical of this style venue. I would not say overly healthy so if that what you are after suggest elsewhere. But a solid pizza bar.

We went for pre-theatre meal and it was a great place to go. The service was outstanding - we had a very quick and tasty meal before we needed to leave. One of us had the pumpkin salad with lamb which was excellent. One had the soba salad with beef which contained a lot more beef than expected, and was a bit heavy, but very flavoursome. Our son said the chicken burger was the best he's ever tasted. It's a busy place, but we felt very comfortable and relaxed. Great view!

We were welcomed warmly, shown to a table and given menus and water. However, table service was then disappointing. After no attention for some time, had to go up to the bar to order first drinks and then wave down passing staff members whenever we wanted to order further drinks or food. No-one seemed to be assigned to our table. Menu and quality and prices of meals were very good. Bottles of wine however were rather expensive.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch at Blue Train. Meals were generous, well priced and food came out quickly.

I ordered the Double Burger and it was absolutely delicious!

We ordered four complimentary drinks, but two of them were not served until we finished our meals which was quite disappointed. One of our colleagues even had to cancel her drink as she had to rush back to work.

We enjoyed our meal at Bluetrain. Lots of options, family friendly and affordable.

We made a booking so there was not wait time to get in. We waited 15 minutes to be served, and then 45 minutes for the food to arrive. 3 of the 4 dishes were very average (margherita pizza, zucchini & feta balls, chicken burger), the only success was the duck risotto. We had to get up and find a member of the service staff to enquire as to how long the food would be and was told 'coming' - half an hour later it came. We were put in an outside alcove where we had a bird relieve itself over one of our party - if you are going to put tables out there, put some sort of wire to keep the birds away.

Great atmosphere, so much flavour in food! Great views. Highly recommend.

If you want to be stung for average food this is the place

People who arrived after us were served before us. I ordered a pizza. I was expecting fresh tomato sauce on the pizza not tomato paste which was quite dry. No one attended to us once we received our meals. We didn't even get asked if we wanted dessert. When we were ready to leave I couldn't even find someone to ask for the bill. I finally flagged someone down. Not a great experience and will probably not return.

Staff friendly and efficient. Food nice. Good value for money with lunch special. We had a view. So overall we had a lovely time.

We ordered 3 mains and only got 2. Disappointing. Riesling wine was pretty ordinary.

I met up with a friend from Switzerland who hadn't visited Melbourne before and is a real foodie. She loved the food and the atmosphere and liked the different take on a meal such as gnocchi with chorizo.
