British Hotel

Excellent all round service. The welcome was warm, the sparkling wine chilled, the steak perfectly cooked. My husband and I were celebrating and the Staff made us feel very special. We are most grateful! An elderly gentleman took ill whilst we were there and an ambulance was required. We were so impressed with the calmness of the Staff, their care and compassion. Full Mark's to them!!

Very tasty meals, quick and attentive service. Probably the best steaks we've had in as while. The heat lamps keep the outdoor area nice and cosy in winter. Will be back!

Decent but on the pricey side for what it was. 2 out of 4 mains were good. The other 2 were pretty average. 1 of the 3 entrees was good. Service was very good, though the meals were slow out and it was a quiet night. Overall, not much better than a standard pub meal, at a premium price.

Regular diner at the British - New Menu is Yummy Can recommend the Lamb salad with spinach, pearl barley cranberries & pomegranate glaze - 10/10

Table service for lunch this time and excellent dining selection for a pub. Not to crowded with tables and friendly waitresses. See you there some time.

Lovely food and attentive staff. They were able to accommodate our specific dietary requirements without a fuss and made notes to ensure everyone knew there was a sufferer of celiac disease. We will definitely be back.

Restaurant service was Excellent. Food was good - duck terrine; haloumi; crab spaghetti and pan fried gnocchi. Front bar disappointing. Not the cosy, warm set up we were expecting with the open fire.

Lovely meal. Recommend the King Prawns & Crab Linguine. Friendly staff. Cold beer. Just before a game at the Adelaide Oval. What more could I ask for? Happy Days..

We have never had a bad day at the British. The staff are so nice, the food it great, even the regulars are quite happy to sit at the bar and have a chat. It has become one of our favourite places to go for a nice feed and a couple of drinks.

Friendly staff, I was in the old part near the covered beer garden with cosy outdoor gas heating. The food well presented, delicious & a decent size. Strongly recommend.

I love the British especially on a cold wintry afternoon. The food is always good and service is great. Our go to place when the crows are playing at home.

You had an engagement party outside and the service inside was a bit slow. We had to ask several times for glasses or wine menu and a desert that got forgotten. It was a lovely meal and the surrounding were nice. the party was quite noisy but that happens. we felt we got a bit forgotten at times.

Nice pub warm open fires food was excellent my only negative was the staff could have been a little more attentive- we had to ask for a drink menu then for the food menu then for the dessert menu and had to get up to get the bill ourselves so we could leave .

Food was fabulous! Lovely, friendly service. We had quite a few extra people arrive and the staff catered for us quickly and without fuss. We had a great night, thankyou.

It took a while for our party to be seated. But after that, the service, food and wine was great. Will definitely be coming back.

Good food good atmosphere unfortunatley they dont sell the rib eye steak they were famous for also on their website, but will certainly be returning soon

We have always enjoyed the British and have spread the word to our friends as always being great food atmosphere and value. Last night I don’t know what went wrong but looking around the room ....many people seemed annoyed and just sitting waiting for their food. We were told the wait was going to be longer than normal but for us I had to ask that one of our guests at least get her entree ASAP as she was feeling ill and was pregnant had a scare that afternoon and had just come from the hospital from a check up. Waitress seemed annoyed as if I was que jumping that was not the case. She brought back a role later and that was enough for Louise at that time. Very disappointed as had not taken this couple there before and I will be talking to my friends. I know tonight a work colleague and her friends have booked in so on Monday will be interested in their experience. Like us they have always been very happy with the British.

Good food and service set in a pleasant atmosphere reminiscent of an English pub. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Adelaide Oval.

The food and food service was very good, but waiting at the bar for drinks was a somewhat demeaning experience. I felt I was deliberately ignored for quite some time. Others were served ahead of me, and I was made to feel unwelcome.

Great friendly staff and great food. We will definitely be going back, it has that more personal touch since they have changed the way you order your food and pay for it

Great atmosphere lovely staff. Service bringing meals was a tad slow and kids meals came out last but it was Easter Saturday so was quite busy. Cheeseburger came out without cheese but staff quick to fix it. Overall food was delicious ans enjoyed our lunch!

Service was good and a few issues addressed immediately staff very helpful . Lovely garden setting with bar out the front and option to pay and gp for drinks

Very helpful, professional and friendly staff. The food was amazing and the ambience fantastic. the hotel is beautifully decked out and there is plenty of room in that you are not all sitting on top of each other.

Very disappointed. We used to go there very often prior to the new owners taking over, but that will no longer be the case. Service was terrible, and it wasn't busy. Had to ask whether bread was still being provided after having waited at that stage just over 30 minutes. Main meal wait was nearly an hour. I requested a medium steak, and my steak was over cooked and dry.

A great night with friends. Could not fault the steak meals that we all had. Staff very friendly & attentive. Would definitely return. The only negative was that with the very extensive wine list, our first choices, both red & white were not available.

Great customer service, beautiful surroundings and an enjoyable evening with friends. The food was great with enjoyable share entrees and crispy vegetables with our parmys and steaks.

Staff were friendly and sufficient, food was excellent, the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Real green plants (not plastic!) are everywhere. I can't find anything negative. I'll be there again.
