Cecconi's Flinders Lane

Everything was fine: Food, service, ambience but no standouts in any category. Can't recall any of the dishes we ate! It was a nice, pleasant evening out but nothing especially memorable.

A nice meal and made to feel very special. Our waiter was extremely helpful. Just a little disappointed that the menu had changed, as we were all looking forward to a particular dish that was no longer available.

Descending the steps from Flinders Lane always gives me a glow, and last night was no disappointment. Charming waiters, compelling specials, great tastes. Our pre-theatre sitting was clearly before the restaurant settled into its evening rhythm, but we were served and done in no time so the show could go on

Always a great experience. You never get a bad experience at Cecconi's. It's the safest bet, when-ever we think 'lets just try somewhere else' we're continually disappointed and should have just gone to Cecconi's first! Try the Barolo...

This restaurant brings a level of class and sophistication from the time you walk in. With its intimate settings, it is a great environment for a special gathering whether it is with friends, family or a romantic date. The food is fantastic. They were perfectly portioned and not too little or too much. By the time I got to dessert I was so full already but still had to order it to try it and it was delicious. It is quite pricey for the food however you get what you pay for.

A wonderful night out at Cecconi's, great menu and wine list. Loved finding this restaurant again. Service is good and decor is beautiful, looking forward to returning soon.

Classy restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. Waiters are attentive and professional without being annoying and the menu offers a modern take on many classical Italian dishes.

The waiter had a frustrated disposition with us, when we were nothing but friendly. One of the main courses was too salty and sent back. The second one to come out was much better.

Fantastic service. Food is prepared with care and skill and does not disappoint. Great wine list as well. Be sure to ask what specials are on.

A great meal and friendly service as always. We will be back. The seafood linguine and veal cotelleta are top of the list for me.

Impeccable service, beautiful ambience, and stunning food. We took our 14 yo for a food experience and the staff were magnificent with him, explaining dishes and making recommendations. White chocolate parfait, if it's on the menu in future, do not hesitate to get it...divine! The passionfruit meringue wafers in it were to die for.

Food was below average and service was abrupt. Pasta not aldente but undercooked, over salted and steak was dry and overdone. Wine list was cheap and uninspired. It was a very disappointing experience. I expected much more for a restaurant that consistently receives awards. There are so many better places to eat in Melbourne. I will not come back again.

Cecconi's is always a wonderful restaurant. I have dined here many times and I have never been disappointed. Delicious, superbly prepared food, excellent service and a great ambiance.

Booked lunch for 2 for my 60th Birthday last week. Waiter was entertaining and kept our glasses topped up without being in the way. The Duck Tortellini with pate was terrific as was the seared scallops for entrée. My wife enjoyed her Baccala couchette's and seafood Linguini. My wife had a third course being the chocolate pudding with soft warm sauce inside. They gave me a plate signed with a chocolate happy birthday and some fudge with a candle...nice touch actually. A classic Melbourne institution did not disappoint - the setting, food, staff and wine were all fantastic. I opted for the Morton Bug Spaghettini for starters and then opted for the Grain fed Scotch Fillet which was beautifully cooked (rare) with a fantastic rich smokey crust - magnificent!

The Staff were lovely and friendly and made the effort to make our evening enjoyable. The food was really great and the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion.

A great special occasion restaurant. Waiters helpful and food all delicious! We had antipasto, entrees, main & dessert and it was about $150 a head for food.

I'm a semi regular here and regard Cecconis one of this towns finest dining outings. Service always attentive. Food wise? Authentic allowing key ingredients to speak for themselves.

Great food . Great service . Great overall experience. Nothing to fault . No wonder they were bustling on a cold Wednesday night. Not a cheap night but well worth cost.

Absolutely delicious dinner, beautiful service, excellent decor. My favourite was the pappardelle with beef ragu as well as the chocolate pudding. Highly recommended for your next celebration.

We thoroughly enjoyed my family birthday dinner at Cecconis. Out table was in a marvellous spot - a round table for 6, in the corner (especially good for the 2 'senior' members of our party who do not hear so well. Attentive and unobtrusive service and excellent food and wine. Well done Cecconis!

A warm welcome followed by superb service and great meals. This was one of those rare occasions where the waiters anticipated our every need. A superb night completed with an equally warm goodbye.

Great service. Quiet intimate environment. The oysters and then mains, particularly the venison was superb. We will definitely return agai to this wonderful Flinders lane institution.

Pasta could have had more flavour, we were a little disappointed with the dishes. Apart from that, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful :)

Cecconi's presents beautifully cooked food, with great ambience and attentive service. All aspects of this restaurant are easy to enjoy. They will always go out their way to make this a place which you will want to go back to time and time again.

The last time we ate at Cecconi's was when it was located at The Crown Casino. We won't wait as long in the future.Excellent food,excellent service.Overall experience was very good and memorable.Will definitely recommend the restaurant to my family and friends.

It's quite a few years since dinning at Cecconi's(no excuse) having originally started dinning with Olympia when her restaurant was located in St. Kilda. Nothings changed in all that time -- still great. Always good to meet up with Anna again.

The food, wine and room was delicious but service was disjointed. Our entrees arrived about 5 minutes after ordering them which was disappointing and we had to ask them not to bring the mains as quickly. Dessert also came very fast and had clearly been pre made (down to the gelato quenelles). Timing/flow needs to be perfect when your mains are $50. An expensive bottle of wine was also poured out far too regularly as well. Wanted to love it but didn't!
