Mood For Love is named for a classic movie, and the restaurant is designed with that film in mind. The decor is lavish and decadent, with influences from all over Asia, and their menu is predominantly Malaysian, with satay, spices, fresh vegetables and plenty of seafood. Based in the Westfield shopping centre on Pike Street in Sydney CBD, they are a perfect place to take your beloved out for a feed, or to stop off while heading round the boutiques.
A shopping centre might not be the obvious place for your hot date, but Mood For Love in the Westfield Sydney Central Plaza is trying to change that reputation. Like Smokey Robinson, we second that emotion: we’re besotten with this Malaysian eatery, which offers up spicy food for your saucy rendez-vous. Their decor down on Pike Street in the CBD is suitably intimate, and their menu offers plenty of sharing options, so you can go all Lady and the Tramp on your noodles.
The menu at this Malaysian restaurant in the Westfield shopping centre in central Sydney is everything one would expect and more: Asian fresh herbs and spices abound, in dishes such as Tom Tom soup, satay chicken and the iconic beef rendang. On Pike Street in the CBD, there are countless places you can visit to eat, but few can compete with Mood For Love – whether for a secret tryst, a shopping pitstop or a business lunch, so book a table now and head over.
Good location, great service and meal. Very affordable cost - valued for money.
Excellent food, hosts and friendly , well-informed staff. We love eating at Chinta Ria Mood for Love. The food is consistently well-prepared and tasty; the wine list selected by the restaurant is well-priced and matches the spicier dishes.
Authentic Rustic Malasian cooking. Fish was superb and service faultless. Wine list interesting and very reasonably priced. Value for money excellent relative to other options nearby.
Never disappoint, been here a few times. Foods very tasty and always delicious. Service is fast and efficient. Staff very friendly. Ambience is cozy. Great location.
Mood for Love was great! My girlfriend and I were very happy with our experience! Initially we were seated near the entrance which was relatively well-lit, but we wanted a slightly darker (and therefore more romantic!) table, which the staff were happy to accommodate us with. The staff were very friendly, food came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be going back!
We went to Mood for Love for a pre-theatre meal. The service was fast and efficient as we requested. We had a set menu and all dishes were delightful. They make a great beef rendang and the prawn curry was divine. This is our third time back here and it wont be our last.
Great place for a casual lunch or dinner. Convenient location in the middle of Pitt Street Mall. Tables are small and the place is squishy and always busy - definitely have to book. Ambience is very relaxed - dim lights - extensive menu with GF and vegetarian options. Service is very efficient. Food generally is quite good but the scallops were very ordinary - 3 to the plate, very small, no flavor at all. They'd run out of duck - have had it before and its lovely. Beef rendang was spicy and little or no fat, prawn curry was very good and barramundi was excellent. Great wine list. Definitely recommend. Good value for money
The food here is really great. The authenticity of the ingredients and presentation and flavours is refreshing and surprising. If you are new to Malaysian food it will be a total treat. The only reason i held back giving a 100% positive score, is that the tables are so small we had to have two of our dishes rest on a stool which was a little bit cumbersome for a pretty high end restaurant.
This restaurant ticked all the boxes, the quality of service was high, the atmosphere was great for a quiet meal, low lighting, authentic and interesting decor and the food was exceptional and authentic Malaysian. We were there for a per show dinner and although it was a busy restaurant the food came out promptly, reservations would be recommended.
Chinta Ria is a nice little place to go for a nice lunch. The food is varied and interesting. The menu is a bit confusing - it's a "film script" type thing. I wish they'd simplify it. I've been there 6-8 times. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I would say it's a favorite restaurant.
