A great pub offers hearty food, incredible beer and fantastic service. At Harts Pub, they’re covering all the bases, and as Time Out’s People’s Choice Pub of the Year for 2016, it’s obvious they are doing something right. This local favourite is as popular with tourists as it is with Sydney foodies, and they appeal to just about any person who loves having a good time. Found on the corner of Essex and Gloucester Streets in the CBD, this is one bar and restaurant you need to check out.
No matter the time of day, Harts Pub on the corner of Sydney’s Essex and Gloucester Streets impresses with their amazing range of food and drinks, snacks and lovely setting. Founded in 2009, this popular CBD establishment was one of the first to offer tasty craft beer well before it became trendy. Boasting all-Australian craft beers, this restaurant cares about the local food scene and brings regional products to the forefront. The bar features 12 different rotating taps which showcase the current beer selection, plus bartenders who know every detail about the ales on offer.
The food menu at Harts Pub is just as impressive as their beverage menu. If you’re with a group, be sure to share a tasty appetiser of beer battered chips, or crunchy waffle fries with bacon salt before moving on to the restaurant’s lengthy list of main courses. Meat lovers are encouraged to try their grain-fed sirloin, pork cutlet with cracklings and the delicious sumac encrusted kangaroo fillet. Not so hungry? Go for one of their light meals or go vegetarian with their incredible veggie burger. the food was really good and the staff was great and friendly. It was easy to make a reservation and location was perfect. Would recommend if you are down for some pub food.
Nice beer & food. Excellent customer service. Convenient location. Staff are very helpful & friendly. Manager Darren is very friendly and helpful. Overall, the best pub in Sydney.
Food is great with decent options and really big portions. Amazing beers to choose from and service was also good. Would surely go back there again.
Great food, great beer! I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere, great lunch crowd, very nice old pub. Would recommend it. Spicy bbq burger was great, the prawn/calamari salad looked scrumptious too.
Harts is so lovely and has a great ambiance. Food was fantastic and a good variety. Staff very friendly and obliging , they were actually happy. Only 1 very small thing, the wine list was very small and it was hard to choose something that was a reasonable price, but beer where great. Couches could do with some reupholster. Definitely will go back
Had a great evening at Harts Pub, the heritage feel, craft beers, great food and the best trivia in town made it a very pleasant night.
Seamless experience and very quick. Will use the service again when possible. I was also impressed by Harts Pub as the table was fully ready.
Great location - between the tourist and business areas. Friendly staff - relaxed, casual vibe - unobtrusive sports channel - decent menu and food at reasonable prices - something for most tastes. Definitely recommend as a casual relaxed easy place to go. Will be back
Great wings and beer. We had some leftover wings which I wanted to take home so that they would not go to waste, but there were no takeaway boxes. Only reason I would give it a 5 instead of a 6. I dislike wasting food.
We went for a work function, I had the crispy skin barramundi and cous cous which was delicious, everyone else really enjoyed their lunch, will go again and try their beers too next time :)
