After visiting Japan just recently I was keen to try a local Japanese restaurant. I must have been unlucky as this restaurant was disappointing. The restaurant lacked atmosphere (very few customers) and the food was not as good as we expected. My wife asked for a gap between our entree and mains which was 'lost in translation'. I was also interested in trying some Japanese whisky but none was available. We will not be going back to this restaurant unfortunately.

Simple Japanese fare that tastes great. Waitress was friendly and service was quick. Great place for lunch

I’m not often in Richmond but had a show on nearby and my daughter and I were keen on some Japanese. Food was great and well priced.

Evening meal with a friend. Great service, delicious food. Only downside is that it’s very noisy when it’s full or there’s a loud table due to the hard floors and uncovered walls.

We always have a great time there. The food is sensational. Love the chicken katsu curry and the sushi platters.

I enjoy dining at Hayashi 291. The food is always delicious and the service especially friendly and good. The menu has so much choice. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!
