Hotel Elermore

The staff were friendly and the food was great, it was lovely to be back.

Chicken schnitzel was perfect so was the salad with sprouts mixed lettuce tomatoes and yummy dressing and chips which I try not to eat!!!

Together with five other friends chose to celebrate a birthday at Hotel Elermore. One friend ordered a meal to find out after nearly an hr wait that it was no longer available was given another meat dish ( lesser value) no compensation either others had Sri Lankan butter chicken served warm and tasted like a store bought sauce over chicken. The chef is Sri Lankan so more was to be expected. We were also told by the staff “why have you two numbers on your table next time put it in as one number” we explained we tried to do just that but were not allowed by the person serving. She said she would talk to her staff Hardly a peaceful experience for a birthday catchup. Warm food had to get cutlery that was missing from packet albeit staff saying they would return with it And unfortunately if you are going to charge for food as they do then at least serve it hot with cutlery and not filled up with overcooked fancy chips. I was embarrassed my friends had this experience. I wont be back and as some staff who had worked with previous owners stated they were aware of issues and were trying to address them. Oh dear well its not yet working .

With the recent refurbishment of the hotel and restaurant we expected a half decent experience how wrong we were. We were seated in close proximity to the entrance whenever anybody entered or left we were treated to a nice gust of cold air. We had ordered and waited for over an hour before my wife's food was served. I waited a further ten minutes for mine. The waitress was poorly trained when she served my wife's food she reached across the table in front me. The salmon my wife had was dry in the middle but ok other than that. When my steak was served despite the menu Saying : All steaks served with your choice of; > Rosemary salted chips and salad > Creamy mash, vegetables and sauce* *Subject to availability due to the quality cooking process. *Excludes Garlic Cream Prawn sauce served with veg My meal arrived with only the mash, and when I asked about the veg she went and got the menu and very rudely advised us the choice of serves was four ie creamy mash or vegetables or chips or salad. I might not be a scroller but I don't believe a comma is not an abbreviation for or. The steak was very poor quality I left most of it I did not even bring it home for my dog. VERY DISAPPOINTING, IF YOU WISH TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT GOOD LUCK WE WILL NOT GO BACK.

It was a warm atmosphere and food was great maybe waited a fair while but all good

Service was crap took an hour and a half to receive meals that had parts of the meal missing that had been added and paid for staff were rude when asked about this and replied with I didn’t cook the food so don’t be rude when asked why something that had been paid for wasn’t there. Food was not nice at all would not recommend this place at all

Customer service was very rude. We arrived a little early, the girl sat us at a random table with less seats and basically said nothing else. Almost at our booking time we asked where we would be sitting and she said it's only 6:27 people are at your table. Very rude and unprofessional manner to speak to customers. We then ordered at 7pm lined up for over 30 minutes they were serving the same customers for over 15 minutes. No idea why? But if they had issues they could of moved them to the side to let the large line order. When we first made the booking they said they only had three sessions of 5,6,8 but because of this and there reduced dining room they still had a tone of people ordering sitting in the bar and outdoor areas doesn't make sense to me. Food arrived at 8:30 STONE COLD!

Food was pretty good, but service was slow. Well over 80mins for meals to come out.

Meals took a really long time to come out, people that ordered after us got their meals first, steaks were over cooked and dry gravy was gross and the salad had lettuce and a scrapping of carrot and 1.5 cherry tomatoes.

The table was still seated with the previous setting. The food was cold when served. Steaks were mixed up between the customers at the table. The steak sandwiches were soggy. Very disappointing. The customer service was poor. At no time during the meal were we asked if the meal was ok or did we need anything.

Our party of 9 family members were split between 2 tables. I asked the waitress if we could move the tables together for ease of communicating with each other. I was told no due to social distancing. Fair enough, except a table two rows away had tables pulled together to seat 12 people. Small detail, but a bit annoying. The food was lovely and the staff were great.

Great feed. Slightly slow with the service but it’s strange times so don’t know kitchen rules. Highly recommended

Ttv too loud so hard to social distance as you couldn’t hear each other n had to lean closer to each other. Initial female who greeted was a bit abrupt no smile. But she did ask us how meals were later. I asked for medium steak but received extra well done. No pink at all. No sanitiser left in entry. No instruction to use clean pencil or those thrown on table. Will prob give it another visit

Food was tasty. Entree came out very quick but had to wait 1hr + for mains.

Excellent table for 7 with bench aswell as seats. We had lunchtime special which was very good value. Tasty chips, salad, chicken schnitzel and mushroom gravy. Totally recommended!

Overall experience was fantastic. Shame some of the menu options couldn't be slightly varied ie chips & salad changed to Mash and Veg. Also, very minor, but waitresses were a little too keen to keep checking if we were ok and wanting too clear the table too quickly. Just maybe not approach customers too oftenbecause it can he a little intrusive but overall they were friendly so not not complaint.

Nice food, good choice, good price, large serves. Indoors a bit smoky and food took quite a while to come out. Overall pretty good and we will return.

Perfect lunch, lovely restaurant, Marinara Pasta was to die for, will be back!

Meals came quickly and large serving...beer was cold...perfect pub grub.

I understand that the hotel is returning to the”new” normal but having 3 x bread brought out 5 mins before your main meal is not really acceptable. Then all the mains arrive and my crumbed cutlets are under cooked, so send them back, to which they were re made which was appreciated. In general the overall attention to detail in the dining area could be looked at??

We had an 1130am booking. We were asked to order which was done by 12pm. We received our meals at 1240pm and were asked to leave at 1pm. We were rushed. We understand the COVID19 rules; however, we were rushed to order then sat and waited - all to be rushed out the door.

Food took an hour, our table was booked for 5pm and we at close to 6:30pm, which is when they wanted us to vacate the table. They then asked us to leave soon after we'd finished eating, being so close to the next lot of bookings.

Waited a long time for our meal and my steak was well done not the medium rare I ordered.

The venue to great. Unfortunately the food and service wasn’t up to standard. We asked for share servings and mains to come out at the same time. It didn’t happen. They got the sauce wrong on one of our meals and the sauce they replaced it with (meant to be pepper sauce) wasn’t edible! When we made mention of it the reply was not what we’d expected either. Hope it lifts because it’s a beautiful new venue.

One of our meals came to our table only Luke warm. We had already waited 1 hour to get our meal. We’ve lived in Elermore Vale for 41 years and have been very frequent patrons to The Shaft. We won’t be in a hurry to go back, which is a shame. Also my husband wasn’t impressed that there were only 2 beers on tap neither of which he likes!!!!
