We travelled in from inter state and this is my second time for HuTong. The food is the best I have found by a long shot and their dry chicken and chilli dish brought back memories of our trip to China some years back. Highly recommend, great service and good value for money.

The service was good but the food quite disappointing with inadequately cooked and therefore tough brisket and pan fried pork dumplings that were quite doughy and tasteless.

Good was great. Staff could have been a little more attentive with the wine top ups or leave the bottle on the table for us to top up.

Good food, no wait times when you book a table. Service could be a bit friendlier at times (depending on waiter/waitress).

Our seating was terrible, stuck in the back corner of the top floor, for a birthday dinner - staring at a brown wall.

The food was ok but not as good as previous visits. We were seated near 2 tables of 8 who were very noisy. We found it impossible to hear each other.

Booked for 5. We came as 8. They sorted us out no problem. Dumplings were the highlight.

We had a great lunch and was economical as we only had tea, several dumpling dishes and a vegetable dish that was fantastic with a few different types we had not had before.

Best chili wontons in all of Melbourne. I've eaten here at least a dozen times, just for the chili wontons. Other than that, only 20% of their wine list is actually available, service is decent, prices are great, the rest of the menu is hit and miss

Service was good and food is always delicious but we didn’t get informed they were closing 1:45pm because of the cleaning in the kitchen until later. It was enough time but I felt a bit rushed.

Dumplings weren't as good as I remembered (I last went a few years ago). Especially the Xiao Long Bao dumplings, they were just average and almost tastes like something you can get from a cheap restaurant.
