Not bad taste could have been better . Small portions
This was a special b/d treat for her father (70) courtesy of a voucher purchased by our daughter in the UK. Julia lives in Bath and her only info about Jack & Knife was from the Internet. The fit between restaurant and guests in this case was inappropriate. We were expecting a fine dining experience (the voucher was for $200) and instead found ourselves in a Bistro. The menu was very limited, but the food, though not to our palate, was excellent. The evening was saved by a very stimulating staff member whose conversation made our long journey from the Central Tablelands (almost) worthwhile!

Friendly staff and service but pretty ordinary food for price
Lovely venue, great for a casual date night. The cocktails were great and so was the food, the flat iron steak was a tiny bit under (I ordered a medium but it came out more med-rare) but overall still delicious with that amazing dashi butter

We arrived and was seated right away. The wonderful atmosphere of the place started then with the smiling lady taking care of us. We had a lot to catch up on so some cold ones where first to arrive. The atmosphere & the service was very good. Would go back again and try the fish. This was a nice find.
Interesting food and drinks, not the standard fare. Main courses are meant to share.
