For visitors and day-trippers to Darling Harbour, this is an easy spot for a quick but very impressive Chinese meal, while for Sydney locals it could be a daily dining spot for inner-city business types or a casual evening eatery for fans of proper Chinese food. With a touch of class and some modern tweaks, Jade Dumpling Bar rests on the rock solid foundations of China’s culinary canon, presenting refined versions of time-tested classics like kung pao chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, Beijing beef and sweet and sour fish. Of course the titular dumplings are a large part of the spectacular dim sum menu at this cute Sussex Street eatery, with dry-steamed, pot-sticking, meaty, vegetarian or fishy versions all up for grabs, though you can’t really go wrong whatever you choose. They have a cool, colourful space and plenty of fine wines, so try Jade Dumpling Bar for a special occasion or social event, because the food definitely won’t disappoint.
Great little dumpling bar, went there for lunch on a Friday with a mate. Good food, good service, would definitely go again... Does the job!
We had a quick Friday lunch and enjoyed lovely, fresh dumplings. The food service was quick from when we ordered and the overall vibe of the restaurant was fun.
The dishes were very tasty and plenty of food to go around! It was not crowded and they helped us out by arranging tables for our group of 10.
