really good, only negatives were the first time we had the grilled seafood we got a scallop with a nice pesto on it. the last time no scallop. Also did not like that we had to pay $7 for still water. can understand if it was sparkling water
Everything excellent; However, it looks like they are under staffed ( or disorganised?) We had to wait more time than usual to be attended, even for checkout... also, getting in was specially chaotic
Food was very tasty, an well presented and our waiter was very helpful, Also a good choice of beer an wine which made our experience more enjoyable
Wonderful, friendly service and excellent food. Our excitable, loud, young children were also very well looked after despite their boisterousness and our poor parenting. Good wine too.
Excellent food and surroundings. They accommodated my requirements which give the evening a wonderful feeling. Impressed with the service and professionalism. Would highly recommend a visit.
The pizzas were great although a bit disappointed in the portion size of the mains. $23 for a dish of pasta, with about 8 pieces of pasta on the plate. Left very unsatisfied and hungry. To finish the night, found the reception quite rude with lack of communication!
Great food , great view and very nice services. Would love to visit again soon. In fact, I have another booking for lunch on the 17th November.
We had such a lovely evening for my birthday, the seating arrangement was perfect and so comfortable for 8 guests and a pram. The staff were excellent, the food was delicious and the whole experience was wonderful. Can't wait to go back, thank you Joanne
Very nice service , a little slice of Italy , with traditional dishes . Beautiful view of the ocean . I can’t wait to go there on a warm day !
Lovely authentic Italian food with the majority of staff being Italian. Got to converse in Italian and wine queries were explained clearly and with passion. I’ll be going back again soon for sure.
Great service and great view I excellent location. Nice service with blankets offered to sit outside. For the reservation it should be checked if outside our inside table is requested.
Our family celebrated Father's day with dinner at La Capannina and were absolutely delighted with the food and the service. We will definitely be back!! :)
The food was amazing. Very fresh and well cooked. The view is stunning and the service staff were polite, very attentive and on the ball. Couldn’t fault it!
Nice atmosphere, great food and awesome service. I would Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants great Italian food and good service at a reasonable price
Food was lovely but felt rushed because it was Father’s Day and they wanted our table. Parking was a big issue getting there in time.
Amazing food!!! Great service!!! Definitely coming back again and recommending them to our friends and family!!!!! Thinking of having our wedding there in 2020 😊👍🏻
Great location, excellent food and amazing service. The staff are friendly and attentive to details. The food was superb and the wine and cocktail menu was diverse. We will definitely visit again soon.
Good food, friendly staff and beautiful view. Definitely going back!
Far too noisy. Food was ok but a bit bland. Service was not so good as we had to wave our hands consistently for attention. Sat inside but outside is quieter as experienced last time we ate there.
Nice view and food but pricey. Location beautiful and very friendly wait staff. Should open earlier to maximise breakfast trade and give people a chance at the view
Ambiance was perfect, food was superb, staff were amazing and value for money
Great food and excellent service ✅ ✅ Definitely recommend the pizzas and pasta A little noisy due to it being packed on a Thursday night but worth a visit We will be back ⭐️
Service and venue impeccable. Food very good and reasonably priced. Loved sitting at the bar before dinner having a cocktail. Excellent view. Will definitely be back.
Excellent meal and professional service didn't have to wait long even though the restaurant was full will recommend to my friends and I will be returning so will my family.
Food was delicious, service great and the restaurant looks amazing. Cant wait to come back and try the cocktails. It is a little on the pricey side considering the portion sizes, but it's reasonable for a special occasion sort of place and given the great surroundings.
Today I took my Aunty to La Cappinnaro for the first time for both of us been a local to this area for sixty years, don’t think I have enjoyed a meal and service that accompanied it was first class would highly recommend this restaurant In Scarborough.
This was not a very busy evening, it's a Tuesday night with the restaurant half full. The wait service was very very slow. It took ages to get someone to take our drinks order and ages for them to bring out the wine. The glasses were never refilled, we had to do it ourselves. The food came out very slowly, even though it was simple pasta. IT was obvious it had been sitting under the heatlamp waiting for the waiters to get to it to bring to the table. The pasta was very bland, I could cook better pasta and sauce at home out of a bottle. No offer by a waiter for ground pepper or cheese sprinkled on top of the pasta - very slack. It took 15 minutes to get a waiters attention to try and get the bill. Overall, very underwhelming and I wouldn't bother going back.
Went there for our anniversary dinner. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and I did really enjoy my entre of baked Camembert. The bread that came with the entres though was disappointing; was looking forward to delicious fresh Italian bread but got more like hard crusted garlic bread instead. We both ordered pasta for mains (gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella & basil and the squid ink pasta with manna crab) and were bitterly disappointed. I was searching for the mozzarella from my pasta and only found a trace of white on the gnocchi, which I assume must have been it. Also the basil was only a couple of crusty leaves at the top. Taste was very bland; I could expect a dish like this if I bought the supermarket gnocchi and pasta sauce in a jar and quickly heated them up at home. My husband didn’t enjoy his pasta either, he said he still had a salty taste in his mouth the next morning. We ate about 1/4 of both dishes and left the rest. We had really high hopes for the visit, especially as La Capannina is our local in a beautiful setting, but I can’t say we will be coming back. This disappointment cost us $100, I think quite overpriced especially for what you get for your money. My husband also ended up drinking only water as the beer prices were quite inflated as well ($10 for a scooner).
Service was excellent - professional but personal and attentive. The menu and wine list were both comprehensive and easily understood with a wide variety of choices. The food was of very good quality.
Food and drinks were really good, the views were spectacular but the service is what made it, very friendly and accommodating. Only gripe is that they ran out of tiramisu, which was very disappointing but at least it tells you it's all freshly made.
This is a beautiful new huge restaurant which was badly needed in Scarborough. Decor with a tropical theme is gorgeous. Greeted by the friendly girl at reception & shown to our table. Attended to immediately by waitstaff who were professional & courteous all evening. Expansive menu & wine list, all in the mid price range. I chose the ravioli & my friend chose the chilli mussels, both delicious. For dessert we shared the trio of cannoli, also very tasty & fresh. Our waiter for the night was Gerard who was lovely, he made suggestions from the wine list & was very attentive & efficient calling at our table a number of times to ensure all was well. Our food was served promptly from the big open kitchen area. The restaurant was full by the time we left & we know it’s going to be even more busy on a warm summer night when people move out onto the huge decking area which then overlooks the iconic Scarborough beach. Make sure you book as it’s going to be even busier once the word spreads.
A girls catch up, our wait person was Italian and a little hard to understand. It not impossible and his recommendations were spot on. We would definitely visit again.
Delicious food. Great view. Very happy and attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and will be going back very soon.
Average service which let down the overall experience. Our order was taken and then that’s it, no further follow up, couldn’t get any more drinks or offered desert etc. food was o.k
I visited with my partner and 5 year old daughter on a Saturday night. La Cappanina had amazing food with beautiful flavours. We had the baked camembert, arancini to start. Then pastas followed by a sublime ravioli dessert. It has a fantastic fitout, a nice buzzy atmosphere and the view is gorgeous. La Capannina was wonderful value for money for us!
Lively restaurant with big menu and good range of drinks. Food was good, although not outstanding. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is good. Definitely a welcome addition to Scarborough.
The staff were friendly. The food was good traditional italian. In a great location. The prices were resaonable. Recommend the beautiful cannoli for desert, yum
Great food. Great prices. Service was good and loved the fact you can see straight into the kitchen. Would like to go during the day next time. Just for the views 😁
Food was great and well priced. Service was a bit slow but staff were very good. A very enjoyable experience, I will definitely go again.
Fantastic views, excellent service and yummy food! Pizzas were to die for! Can’t wait to go back next time and have cocktails at sunset with friends
I thought the service was good and the location lovely, I just didn’t find the food sensational or particularly memorable. I think I would like to try it out for lunch to see if their lunchtime offerings are better.
Food is excellent service was good but the meals didn’t come out at the same time. The venue is one of the best sea side location to eat on the Perth coast.
A delightful ambience, delicious food, glimpses of the ocean, exceptional service with a smile and very prompt in every regard, however a little too noisy for our group of 7 ladies who like to chat away over a lovely lunch.
Nice place. Grest wait staff. Friendly and helpful. Food was OK. entree and sides were great but mains were super salty. Altho replaced one came back still very salty. No discount or voucher was offered which was disappointing as it was inedible but overall not a bad place to go. Reasonably priced
It was a lovely atmosphere with lovely food. Wait staff are 'really good and very friendly. We will be back again to have another meal.
Yummy food (squid ink and white spaghetti; fresh seafood, authentic Italian pizza). Great service. Tables were small and placed very near next tables but thankfully reception was kind enough to swap us to a slightly bigger table away from bigger crowds. Think there can be one fewer table in the main area to spread things out. Poor waiters had no space to walk. Tables for 5 should be for 4 and likewise. Gotta reconfigure or zig zag them.
Lovely meal and accommodating staff. Although slightly overpriced for the product, would go again based on the overall experience, staff very accommodating when had to change booking time
All in all it was quite good. The service was rather slow and the venue is a bit noisy which is the case in lots of restaurants here. Food was good, desserts unusual but nice. The views are probably spectacular but unfortunately it was a bit late at 7 pm - not your fault :-)
We were sitting near the main entrance and we were all really cold. The spaghetti marinara was inadequate in size. The barramundi and salmon were quite nice but quality fresh fish such as snapper would be what I would hope for for $38. On a good note, the gnocchi and pizza have been a win on previous visits and the staff are very friendly.
Had a nice time. Food was great. Visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, sat outside, was a little loud. Enjoyed our time. Staff was lovely
