Great location for dining with nice views, good fresh food
Good variety of food options and good quality and atmosphere
Very great. Food is yummy. Service is good. Price is reasonable.
Good for value and food was very fresh and friendly service
It was nice and food was not bad at all
Pathetic excuse for a buffet. Great location, terrible food and service.
Good value for money, bit of everything rather than pure Japanese.
The restaurant had a really nice view and the food was great !
Great! Lots of variety of food and friendly service.
A nice venue on Elizabeth Quay. We enjoyed the variety of food, especially the seafood.
food is fresh and service is good. Like It very much.
Booked & went there and you didn’t even know it was under renovation. Just wasted our time going there with so much expectations but end up standing infront of the entrance posted “sorry under renovation “.
Wide variety of foods available. However, I personally was not thrilled by many of the dishes. The sushi and sashimi were delicious, though. Staff were very polite but almost too quick to take away our plates, as I was still putting the last bite into my mouth as my plate was taken away from under me on a few occasions. Beautiful layout of he restaurant with stunning views.
Food was amazing and the staff were really attentive. The food was really fresh especially the seafood and the desserts bar was very refreshing. Would definitely come back again
Paid $146 for 2 buffet & 2 glasses of lem lime bitter. Despite the beautiful river view, food is not worth for value. Seafood range is acceptable, no fresh but okay. Sushi, Sashimi, tataki tasted like any budget eatery around Perth so sushi lovers should not expect too much for these. As a personal perspective, most of your desserts cake, tarts, panna cotta is frozen ones (probably i may be wrong, i wish). I know opening a restaurant on the river bank has lots of challenges and difficulties such as high rent and strict demand from middle (and upper) class diners. Therefore such reviews like this may be pissed off but it is necessary for improvement. With that location, you can charge high high price for dining but make it fine dining to match with your venue. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great for family/ group gathering but we may not come back and there is not many special in food. Be strong and let get it a better place!
Good view and nice food, good environment. Love the desert which is just very light sweet, suitable to people who do not like super sweet food.
It even not open! waste me time and fuel to get there! Not Happy! And it said open 7 says. It is very wrong!!! Not recommend to anyone at all.
Laputa did not even open, other families groups and me waited at door until 5 past 6. I tried to call the restaurant 10 times, the phone does t allow to leave message.
customers service and atmosphere was good but i wouldn't raccomand for food . very low quality food.. the worst sushi ever.. the food in general wasn't good..
Fabulous food, exactly like the best I’ve eaten in Japan. Authentic setup and gorgeous view of the Swan River. Thank you for the quality experience
The service and view are great at Laputa. Today we got the special promotion, everyone gets a free drink. I’ll definitely recommend friends to come.
Food was terrible. Roast duck was chewy and skin not crispy. Make your own noodles was not good. Hot food was lukewarm. Oysters were not fresh as a result I have diarrhea. Staff were not attentive and not friendly.
Very limited selection at premium prices. However, they do have very fresh oyster and mussels. Their sashimi section didn't look very appetising nor fresh. Half of my family members came back with a tummy discomfort. I wouldn't go back without a really cheap voucher or promo deal. Not worth the it.
Yummy food. Lots of selections. Great location. Lots of parking. Beautiful view over the Swan River. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. YUM YUM.
Not much variety of foods and dessert. In term of staffs are friendly and helpful. As last week special on tepanyakki but doesnt seems anything appealing.
Very good variety of food and dessert. Ambience was nice and pretty. Only problem today was a hot day. Air cond wasn’t very strong. Will definitely recommend friends.
Lovely staff. Even brought out a happy birthday plate for my mum as I mentioned it as we walked in. Food was delicious. Will be going back
It is ok and the staff is helpful👍The only thing is the food types seems not up to my expectations after I attend Laputa last year.
The environment is great. However, having been a couple of times before, i feel the selection has dropped in terms.of variety espcially the sashimi sushi and teriyaki selection. Unfortunately this will probably be the last time visiting.
First time dining at Laputa and found it to have a lot of selection and beautiful views. An awesome dining experience with very friendly staff too!
the sea food is not fresh, and the roast duck and BBQ chicken is not been served, there are only five kinds of sushi, which is much less than last time. however, the dessert is remarkable.
Bad. Poor quality and variety. Only 4 types of sushi rolls/nigiri. Only 7 tables were dining in so Food tasted old been sitting under bainmarie for too long. Most of the desserts were chewy and stale. Water in the Ice cream scooper bowl was dirty and disgusting. Definitely not worth $79. The only good thing was the sapporo beer but that you have to pay extra for. Won’t be back again.
The food was average for its value of money. Definitely wouldn’t go for round 2
Awesome fresh sea food. My boys 15th birthday and big fans of Asian food - best bit was seeing them not managing to eat anymore.
It is a lovely experience to be in Laputa! The place looks fancy and relaxing because of the waterfront view with dolphin peaking once in a while...
The hot food was lukewarm or even at room temperature. The sashimi serves are quite small and the dim sum selection is quite limited in spite of the premium price you pay.
The staff at Laputa were nonintrusive, kind, polite and very helpful. The food was delicious, fresh & flavourful. It was lovely to be near the water. We would like this experience again!
very good! The oyster is very fresh and very big. The service is in place and can help the guests in time. The day was to celebrate the birthday and the shop served a small cake and took the initiative to help us take pictures.
90% of food were Chinese, not Japanese. Some grilled menu were too salty for us. View was good and staff were friendly. Generally overpriced. Not recommendable.
It is actually below my expectations. Sashimi portion is miserably petite, variety is very limited. Ingredients of sushi are not displayed; it’s really hard to figure it out simply based on their fancy names. Chawanmushi only fills less than one quarter of a small cup, maybe a good fit for a sake cup. Oysters don’t look fresh. Marble floor around food area are very slippery; during my two hours there I did not see anyone cleaning it; so I wouldn’t suggest anyone to wear high heels. Night view from the restaurant is very nice; but the restaurant are very crowded, too many tables to fit in such a confined space; I have strangers in almost all the photos I took from different angles. I have to say I don’t think I will visit this restaurant again.
