The food was great as was the atmosphere. Our only comment is that to charge a 1.25% credit card surcharge for a restaurant like this is ridiculous and should be in the pricing not added onto the bill. Probably 90% of patrons pay via credit card so why have this ridiculous situation of a surcharge!

Great customer service. Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Great views. Dessert buffet was amazing! We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and one of the staff members went out of his way to bring a plate of cakes with the words happy birthday on there.

Very bad experience. I slipped on the floor as water was running on to floor from top bench, where steamers and teapot soup were. I did notice the bruised knee and painful ankles and wrists until I got back home. It really made us unhappy as we dinnered with a good friend who is leaving perth Sunday morning flight and it's her first time to visit Perth. It ruined our dinner. Also, it really humiliated me to fell off in front of others and sitting in the waters with dirty dress and shoes. It makes me fear of to dinning out. It brings inconvenience to my whole family. I am a full-time mom with two young kids, one is just four months, but now I have to rest a bit and cannot take good care of my kids because of pains and psychological effect from the fell to off. Please contact me and compensate accordingly. Thank you. Sarah

Oyster not very fresh as they are sticking to their shell. Other food are ok and the dessert are good. Might consider to come back if the price drop a bit more.

The best dessert I have had in a very long time, food was great - but if you have kids with you, unless they love sushi or seafood not much for them to eat. The staff are lovely and there is a lot of choices.

It was my family's first time at Laputa and we were impressed. The customer service we received was really good, each of the waitperson we encountered always had a smile on their face and seemed to be serving genuinely from the heart - this dinner experience was made so enjoyable especially because of the service we received that night. The variety of food were not as much as I expected in comparison to Crown Perth's Atrium and Epicurean, but the options available were not disappointing either. I loved that they had a noodle bar where you can customise and 'cook' your own ramen or udon with broth of choice. Other foods worth noting included fresh sashimi, Japanese salads, sushi, chawanmushi, takoyaki and teppanyaki food. The desserts were really nice and I actually preferred Laputa's desserts (if I had to compare with Atrium or Epicurean). The desserts are more Asian inspired and there was nothing too sweet or tart or all cream. It was actually quite refreshing. The ice cream is self-service and I like the idea of allowing diners to help themselves to how much ice cream they wish to have as well as the combination/ratio of flavours they liked. The dim sum selection is unfortunately quite limited and not very impressive but with all the other food available, it was not a major issue for us. They also gave a complimentary dish of teppanyaki style beef - the meat was cooked well and it was a nice bonus. It was also my sister's birthday and they organised a special birthday plate with 3 petite desserts along with a lighted candle and chocolate Happy Birthday written on the plate. Needless to say, my sister was pleasantly surprised. Overall this has been a wonderful dining experience and there is no doubt we have now deemed Laputa as our new favourite.

Kenny and Rusky was very attentive, polite and professional in serving us. However it was Laputa's variety of food available that was disappointing. Compared to the menu they have on the website, not even half of the food listed on the weekday lunch menu was served. Very disappointing.

Slippery floor, serving tap water, and dried cakes that seems like from the night before, and the food don’t have as much as variety as the menu they advertised. Very dissapointing, We don’t think we will go back

Not enough variety of food for a lunch charges $49, the website claims to have more variety e.g. Website claims to have 8 types of sushi where we can only see 4-5. Also the "expansive" type of items refill SUPER slow!! There are only 2 plates of Salmon sashimi and 2 pieces of Salmon Nigiri, which are all a bit dark unfresh looking that nobody would takes, they sit there for an hour before the chef begins to load up more. Consider the sitting time of only 1.5 hour! We are very unhappy for the "high end" food to load up in that speed (new fresh item to reload in 1 hour time!) Otherwise dessert are great, ice cream are great, loved the noodle bar!

I really dont see the point of coming back again as the service sucks, no smile no proper greeting, and the variety of food is quite limited, the even worse is steaming bao already gone bad smell, i dont bother to make complaint as you.dont want to talk to thes cold-face chinese staff. that is why less and less people come here.

Really poorly signed location. First impression, deaf asian woman with a huge run in her black stockings sat us down. Below average bufget selection and all cold. Better choices at a shopping centre food court. Was like eating a buffet dinner in a 3 star hotel in mainland China.

Appetizers and entrees choices and presentation were just okay. It would have be nice if the food was kept warm especially for the dimsum and karaage. Dessert was nice. Good service.

We came to Laputa on a Friday for lunch and I’ll have to say that the selection of food is becoming rather disappointing each time we visit the place. At first they took all the roast selection out of the weekdays, then the downsize of selections in the general variety of hot food. Not sure if they have done the same changes on the weekends but sorry to say that I’ll never be coming back again, at least not on the weekdays.

It's lovely to be able to go to a restaurant where the wait staff aren't always in your face. There's a so much to choose from and there are new tastes being showcased on a regular basis. Thanks for an enjoyable meal :)

Nice night out. Appropriate for a family setting. Whilst there have a 2 hour dining time, we think there was a bit too many reminders during the night and a little distracting. However, we did end up staying longer than the 2 hours dining time as there was not enough time remaining for a second round of customers and was offered to take away some ice-creams at the end.

Inconsistent service and food quality. First time there, it was excellent. Second time there, our table wasn't cleared most of the night unless we flagged down a waiter passing by. Similarly on my second visit, my first bowl of chawanmushi was silky soft but on my second round on the same night, it was dried up. A bit disappointed.

The manager and staffs are very friendly and their customer service is excellent. They made great effort to fulfill my requests for table arrangement and split billing. And empty plates were cleared immediately. Oysters and prawns were really fresh and the desert were great too.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Laputa as did my dining companions. Variety of dishes and styles of cooking, hot and cold options, sweets were great, but presenting deep fried dishes at their optimal best was difficult and a little disappointing, e.g., karaage chicken and tempura were lukewarm due to sitting on serving platters. I realize these dishes are difficult to present in a buffet at their best. We also felt that offering a complimentary hotspot was unnecessary and led to food wastage. Most people wanting that sort of dish would make it the main dish of their meal. Our guests, who were visiting from Japan and celebrating their birthdays, did really appreciate their birthday platters - that was a very nice touch! Thank you!
