I was pretty disappointed with my lunch experience in Laputa. When we arrived at the restaurant, no one bother to show us where is our table. Lucky, our other friends already got a table. So we just go straight to their table. The foods were not really fresh. Even the deep fried section was quite avarage. The noodles for the ramen section was empty for a long time and never got top up (I was there around 12.30pm). There is no much sashimi and no Aburi. We have to ask the waiter a few times for water. It wasn't a great birthday lunch. I wish I could have choose a better buffet place to celebrate my friend's birthday. I hope Laputa can increase the quality or service and their foods.

First time experience & will be back for sure... Went in hungry & came out fully satisfied. Great view of the SWan River & the food was the freshest seafood I've eaten in a long time.

Most of the food was good but they ran out of softdrinks, it was a hot day but water had no ice and only filled when requested, the charged for drinks they couldn’t provide, desert bowls weren’t cleaned properly and we couldn’t pay with partial cash and card. These things spoiled what would otherwise be a nice place with a great view and nice food.

Sashimi: Fresh seafood and sushi, except majority of the mussels were unopenable and most of them had beards attached. I ended up having to discard my portions. Live Station: A major disappointment - it was just precooked food left on the side of the hotplate so they were either cold or overcooked and tough. Advertisement on Facebook page about "king prawns cooked at Live Teppanyaki Station" but never saw a single shell. There was only 1 roast duck served in the entire 1.5 hours we dined there. The better cuts were already taken by earlier customers, so we were left with the fatty and bone-y parts. A new and fresh duck was hanging there previously but it got removed and never came back. Guess they were waiting for guests to pick up the inferior bits first... Dessert: Majority good, a few hits and misses. Variety: Really expected a bigger spread compared to the Lunch buffet for the price difference. Staff: Courteous and attentive staff. Verdict: Paid about $60/person for Dinner service with 15% discount. Would have been more worth it spending it elsewhere.

Delicious, premium food. So fresh and tasty. Went there on a Tuesday night, and we got lost walking around trying to look for the restaurant. It needs a sign that lights up like all the other restaurants there. Good thing the food made up for it. So good that I have booked a table again for 10 people.

The food was great overall. We enjoyed the view, the waitstaff were attentive and the experience in general was worthwhile. The seafood on ice and the sushi were favourites.

Food was great, seafood soups in tea pots are cute and tasty, loved the desserts. The Bao/Dimsum were cold. The air conditioner was very cold.

The food variety is limited, but the environmental and dessert are great! A bit of disappointment on the food served in the restaurant. It might need improvement.

Lack of selection. Hot food was lukewarm only. Taste was mediocre. Service was courteous and efficient. It is not close to being a premium buffet.

Fresh seafood overall. Good selection of desserts and a nice noodles station. The oysters were big and fresh so definitely a plus here. I thought that plating the sashimi into little plates was unnecessary as they actually create a mess on our tables when not collected promptly by serving staff. I understand if the objective is to keep the sashimi fresh but using a tray on a cooler station may be a better solution. Love the view of Swan River as we were seated next to windows and really enjoyed our evening. If you enjoy seafood and desserts, this is the buffet for you.

Overrated reputation, not as good as expected. Expected more than 1 type of sashimi varieties, but only serve salmon and only had 1 portion sashimi (2 slices of salmon only) the whole night. Had to asked service crew and sushi chef for more sashimi, chef display unhappy behaviour when i requested for more. Very disappointed with the experience i had with Laputa.

While the food is tasty and varied it is quite expensive overall, especially if you don't eat like a horse, however if you do eat like a horse then i'm sure you will get your value for money. (Note children probably wont). it is annoying when you have to squeeze past other patrons multiple times to get to you table, or if your one of the unfortunate ones, then you may have a lot of people squeezing past you which may annoy most. A small handout would have been handy detailing proceedings / do's and don'ts etc, but I'm sure most wing it anyway. Ramen noodle stand should be re-arranged to better suit the sequence of putting your meal together. (some people just cant/don't read the instructions behind either which doesn't help). Other than the above the place is tidy and clean and staff are friendly.

Nice view, just right next to Swan river. We had dinner there. Around sunset time, the sky was so beautiful. I really enjoyed their desert, but Atrium has more variety of food and slightly cheaper than Laputa.

It was terrible. There were no live station, hot food were left empty, sushi were at minimum/limited varieties (only seaweed, octopus salad and the occasional extra-thin slices of salmon), no prawns, no oysters and same cold foods around the entire cold section. Buns has the old freezer smell (when food were frozen too long). It seems that with the 20% off special, they are not willing to serve fresh nice food. Very disappointing indeed.

I was expecting a Japanese buffet but this was more like a mix of Japanese and Asian buffet. Their sushi station was not filled up as frequent. while we were there they were almost empty and were not filled up - not sure if this were the case in any other times. There was a ramen/udon station where we can choose which noodle we want, the broths and toppings to go with it. a few range of dimsum dishes. The weather was warm at the time outside however it was quite warm inside the restaurant too. so, unsure whether the a/con was actually on or not??

The first time I ate at this restaurant there seemed to be a lot more food. Today they didn’t seem to be filling up very much, I had to scrape the last bit of rice and the noodle dish just to have a taste. Also not many prawns or oysters. It was a little disappointing

Worst food I have ever eaten in my life. No exaggeration. Cold, dry, stale, tasteless. Venue looks great semi decent veiw but food was shocking and ridiculously over priced. You couldn’t pay me to eat that crap again. To top it all off my brother got food poisoning from some sort of seafood. Rating -10 absolute rubbish.
