10/10 for the service and meals! It was a really nice experience. And to the cute guy who kept telling my brother happy birthday. THANK YOU!

Very helpful and friendly staff members with superb harbour views. We have been offered a private room for 9 of us which was fantastic. All of us enjoyed our dinner very much!

Food was nice and good location to spend a night out. It would of be much better if they can increase their range of choice at the buffet!

Food was crap, cold and soggy. Poor selection, barely any sushi available. However staff were nice. Would not come back ever most likely. Very disappointed.

The view and layout is great although when it comes to the buffet, they do not have many selections in Sushi, the karagi chicken is very oily, they are very stingy on the oysters. They only put out 20 max at a time and literally do not refill them until it has run out. They only give you two small pieces of duck at a time and when you ask for more they only give you one extra small piece. It’s a buffet and they make you feel like you can’t ask for more. My partner loves duck so 2 small pieces are not satisfying. 😂 The fried rice has no flavour and the grilled beef is blan. Otherwise the chilli stew beef is yummy including the chilli crab. The fried fish with honey drizzle is the best in the fried food isle. Didn’t get to the soup but that area was never busy. The desert is so good, from the hand made biscuits to the coffee and Majito panacota to small Japanese desert. They also had caramel and chocolate filled donuts, this definitely melted in your mouth! 😍

great location, great service, good food! Wished the sashimi wasn't served on individual large plates which you have to bring to your table separately. Otherwise great experience.

After reading both positive and negative reviews, I have to say that the staff were attentive, the food was excellent and the ambience was suitable for a reasonably intimate birthday meal. It was a Sunday evening so i guess it was reasonably quiet. Reasonably priced and would be happy to dine at Laputa again.

The food and the staff were just great, but the one and a half hour time limit felt as if we were on the clock, therefore did not find it a relaxing experience.

I was pretty disappointed with my lunch experience in Laputa. When we arrived at the restaurant, no one bother to show us where is our table. Lucky, our other friends already got a table. So we just go straight to their table. The foods were not really fresh. Even the deep fried section was quite avarage. The noodles for the ramen section was empty for a long time and never got top up (I was there around 12.30pm). There is no much sashimi and no Aburi. We have to ask the waiter a few times for water. It wasn't a great birthday lunch. I wish I could have choose a better buffet place to celebrate my friend's birthday. I hope Laputa can increase the quality or service and their foods.

First time experience & will be back for sure... Went in hungry & came out fully satisfied. Great view of the SWan River & the food was the freshest seafood I've eaten in a long time.

Most of the food was good but they ran out of softdrinks, it was a hot day but water had no ice and only filled when requested, the charged for drinks they couldn’t provide, desert bowls weren’t cleaned properly and we couldn’t pay with partial cash and card. These things spoiled what would otherwise be a nice place with a great view and nice food.

Sashimi: Fresh seafood and sushi, except majority of the mussels were unopenable and most of them had beards attached. I ended up having to discard my portions. Live Station: A major disappointment - it was just precooked food left on the side of the hotplate so they were either cold or overcooked and tough. Advertisement on Facebook page about "king prawns cooked at Live Teppanyaki Station" but never saw a single shell. There was only 1 roast duck served in the entire 1.5 hours we dined there. The better cuts were already taken by earlier customers, so we were left with the fatty and bone-y parts. A new and fresh duck was hanging there previously but it got removed and never came back. Guess they were waiting for guests to pick up the inferior bits first... Dessert: Majority good, a few hits and misses. Variety: Really expected a bigger spread compared to the Lunch buffet for the price difference. Staff: Courteous and attentive staff. Verdict: Paid about $60/person for Dinner service with 15% discount. Would have been more worth it spending it elsewhere.

Delicious, premium food. So fresh and tasty. Went there on a Tuesday night, and we got lost walking around trying to look for the restaurant. It needs a sign that lights up like all the other restaurants there. Good thing the food made up for it. So good that I have booked a table again for 10 people.

Lack of selection. Hot food was lukewarm only. Taste was mediocre. Service was courteous and efficient. It is not close to being a premium buffet.

Fresh seafood overall. Good selection of desserts and a nice noodles station. The oysters were big and fresh so definitely a plus here. I thought that plating the sashimi into little plates was unnecessary as they actually create a mess on our tables when not collected promptly by serving staff. I understand if the objective is to keep the sashimi fresh but using a tray on a cooler station may be a better solution. Love the view of Swan River as we were seated next to windows and really enjoyed our evening. If you enjoy seafood and desserts, this is the buffet for you.

Overrated reputation, not as good as expected. Expected more than 1 type of sashimi varieties, but only serve salmon and only had 1 portion sashimi (2 slices of salmon only) the whole night. Had to asked service crew and sushi chef for more sashimi, chef display unhappy behaviour when i requested for more. Very disappointed with the experience i had with Laputa.

While the food is tasty and varied it is quite expensive overall, especially if you don't eat like a horse, however if you do eat like a horse then i'm sure you will get your value for money. (Note children probably wont). it is annoying when you have to squeeze past other patrons multiple times to get to you table, or if your one of the unfortunate ones, then you may have a lot of people squeezing past you which may annoy most. A small handout would have been handy detailing proceedings / do's and don'ts etc, but I'm sure most wing it anyway. Ramen noodle stand should be re-arranged to better suit the sequence of putting your meal together. (some people just cant/don't read the instructions behind either which doesn't help). Other than the above the place is tidy and clean and staff are friendly.
