We love this restaurant. Fantastic service and delicious food! We take our young children with us every week and they are looked after so we’ll which makes our dining experience really enjoyable. The breakfast menu is the best in Crows Nest!

Food at this restaurant can be variable, from my experience, and I have eaten there 8 - 10 times over the past year. Some meals were very tasty (for example, the rabbit and pork terrine dish my husband had), but I was underwhelmed by the duck cassoulet which had almost no sauce (and what was there did not have much flavour) & there was very little cassoulet apart from the duck meat. I would expect good sauces in a French restaurant. Also underwhelmed by the dessert I chose. It was not that enjoyable. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I came away feeling I had not received value for the money I had spent. Aside from my comments about variable meal quality (including portion size), I find that La Bouchon has a pleasant ambiance and the staff are hospitable and friendly. There are times in the past that I would have rated my meal 4 stars, but not on this latest occasion.

This was our third visit to Le Bouchon and it never fails to impress. The food is exceptional and the service and atmosphere is fantastic. The best French restaurant we have found by far and the gem of Crows Nest. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone seeking a quality dining experience.

We ate the Easter special menu and the salmon entrée was delicious, and the pork and rabbit main was very tender and tasty. However, the dessert was the best part of the whole meal - cake on the outside with runny, dark chocolate on the inside, both blending perfectly with the creamy sauce and the sharpness of the raspberry. We sat outside and that was nice. We were a bit concerned that the traffic would be noisy but it was not a problem. The service was timely and friendly but not obtrusive.

The 3 course special was great. A shame you can’t bring your own wine on Friday and Saturday as it bumps up the bill, but meal was lovely

Good food, service, and reasonable value for money. My crepe-suzette desert was disappointing, given that this is surely a 'classic' french recipe? White table cloths - either paper, or linen (?), would also have enhanced our dining experience.

Great experience. The wagyu steak for 2 with mushroom ragout is a must try; standout dish. Entrees are generous. Would recommend the escargot, smoked trout salad and seared scallops. Sardine entree du jour is quite fishy -- I enjoyed it but maybe not for everyone. Duck confit is solid and opera cake also good.

Great atmosphere, service, food and coffee. Omelettes and French breakfast dishes spectacular, as were the crepes. Australian type breakfast choices not so good, disappointed to pay $4 for 2 pieces of grocery store packet ham and $3 for half a tomato. This said, otherwise great, I will definitely be back.

The food was excellent, staff was great, no complaints at all EXCEPT next time we will ask for a bit time between entree and main meal. That’s the only negative!
