Good food but very slow service and priority given to larger group attending that night. By the time we got most of our food it was cold, and we couldn’t order as much as we would have liked in our 2 hour window due to how long it took for each dish to come out. Been to other Okami restaurants and they are much better.

Have been to Kami before in Footscray, but this one in Brunswick I felt was higher quality cooking (even though same menu). Very attentive staff. Highly recommend

Given the incredible quality (and I’m very particular with Japanese food), I just can’t work out how know how they make any money. The quality rivals some of Melbournes best Japanese restaurants (no exaggeration) but the bill looks like it’s missing a zero. Well done and thanks for a great night!

I was disappointed with dinner tonight. Some of the food we had was bland. Meals came out slowly which is not good when you have a timed dinner of 1hr 45mins. Been here many times before but tonight was disappointing for the price you pay per person.

Felt like the staff would have rathered be literally anywhere else than in that restaurant and maybe that’s true, but at least pretend like you want to be there.

The food is ok and the service is ok but I found I had to always prompt them for table service even though it wasn’t busy. The price has gone up a fair bit. Still ok for ‘all you can eat “ but for 2 people with the food and two drinks was about $110.

The food was really good, fresh and hot. The attention from the staff to take away finished plates and jugs was well below average. We had to ask the staff for our orders numerous times. To try to get the staff attention to order more was a task in itself. It took at least 5 minutes to gain someone's attention. While we were happy with the food, the rest of the experience was quite dissapointing.

It took forever for the food to come out, like 45 minutes after we sat down and it’s meant to be all you can eat but the portions were also tiny and the wait time for the food made it feel like it was not all you can eat

Very small menu compared to what they had on offer months ago Pricing has now increased Chicken Teriyaki was not fresh with some pieces dry and hard and gave all of us stomach pain when we were home. Air con on high making it freezing and not comfortable to eat in. We needed to go outside to defrost whilst eating.

I absolutely love going to okami , have been there multiple times and each time I have left satisfied. I love the food and the service and the atmosphere. The seating could get a little cramped up and it gets a little awkward being so close to another 2 tables but other than that I love coming here

The rating for the service has NOTHING to do with the staff themselves - they were great! The problem is that the managers chronically under staff the restaurant during super busy evenings - they need at least one more waiter on during peak times. Also, the tables are waaaaay too high - I'm tall and yet I feel like a toddler having to pull myself up by my elbows - not super comfortable! It's also VERY noisy when things are busy- some soundproofing in the walls/flooring would go a long way. Overall the food is good, the price is good, and it's a place I'll return to again, but the aspects above are noteworthy

Food was good but service was frustrating. Plates of food left on one end of table. For some reason waiters didn't want to take two steps to spread food out. Same with drinks. Slow to bring beer then left on that same end. Drinks had to go hand by hand to other end. Strange!

Awesome food and drinks - great value for money. Noisy customers with screaming kids were the only downside... might be worth visiting at a different time (or just hoping for better luck) next time!
