See my Zomato review! All you can eat - well I’ve been told that even if you only eat the most expensive item on the menu they’ll still make a profit and that is certainly the case. At $32 per person (without alcohol) I think the average person will spend the same at a different place with better options, however they feed under 4s for free so that’s actually a very attractive option to give some variety to the young ones without ordering extra. I really felt I didn’t enough to get good value but I’m trying to be healthy. The corkage for $5 is good value; but once you add the bottle of wine to the bill it’s comparable to many other places. There are only a limited number of high value items on the menu - sushi / sashimi (even then there is a lot of rice), beef carpaccio and cooked prawns. The rest of the items are generally cheap and filling. That’s not to say they are not tasty. The small bowl of noodle soup is actually a great small serving for a kid. They also say they size the servings based on the number of people on the table and I would definitely ask for smaller servings, particularly for things like gyoza. I also think they limit how quickly you get your food by only a limited number of the waiters who can take orders and only having them attend at less than frequent intervals; however once taken the orders came quickly. There is apparently a waste charge but they don’t enforce it if you’re being reasonable. If I was going adults only I probably would go to a place with a wider and nicer selection of food; eg Maedaya (or not do the AYCE) but for a family with young kids it’s a very good choice; the food comes quickly and the kids eat for free (or <4 at half price).

okami is an excellent place to take the whole family. The meals are good, it’s gluten free friendly, there are some vegan dishes on the menu. I always walk out feeling extra full and happy.

The food is fresh and the service very pleasant. Relaxed decor. Have been a few times now to the Brunswick and Fairfield restaurants and the food and service have been reliably good at both venues. The all you can eat menu is great value.

Fresh food, good services. The staffs are warm welcoming. The parking is a concern for customers because this restaurant is on the main street. The only disadvantage is the sushimi cannot be ordered separately.

Food was great but the service was very slow. It was busier than normal which may have accounted for the slow service and was also very noisy.

First time at this Okami - been to Brunswick before but this was very pleasant as less crowded. Staff were attentive, food was great and plenty of it. Good time had by all.

Amazing service by staff. The food looked exactly like the menus and tastes amazing. Serving sizes were small enough you could try a bit of everything. Food was ready within 5 minutes for each item Menu very straight forward.

Food was amazing, totally worth the value for the buffet. Service could have been a little more efficient, we sat there for about half hour after finishing our mains with all the finished plates before we asked if we could get dessert. Overall amazing food, so quick for service, fresh and tasty. We will defiantly be back!

This was our second visit to the early sitting of the all you can eat deal. There is a great selection of tasty dishes which we all love (including our kids) staff are polite and efficient!

Lovely food and great service. First time at the Fairfield Okami and would definitely be coming back, the atmosphere was a lot nicer and quieter than the Brunswick one we usually go to.

Nice selection for an all-you-can-eat Japanese Restaurant. The Fairfield location has street parking that can be challenging to access at peak traffic hours. I recommend arriving a little early to make your seating on time. The restaurant is clean and tidy with attentive staff. I love this Okami!

A pleasant restaurant with friendly staff. It was very busy the night we were there and an extra staff member would probably have been appreciated. The food was fresh and well cooked. Worth a visit.

Fantastic food and service as always! Reasonably priced if you don't go crazy on the drinks menu. A good variety of foods which kept my vegetarian and allergic friends happy

i had attended to Fairfield branch as a friend had recommend it to me. i usually go to Brunswick which is a great restaurant. the atmosphere is great and the restaurant is larger and somewhat quieter than Brunswick which is great, however upon placing our first order, we were told that we cannot order too many of the same dish as it would cramp the table. we had to order a small number then order more once finished with the dishes received. i thought that was a little annoying as we would only have to wait longer to get the rest of the dishes. this is the only aspect I would fault at the Fairfield branch. food was good as expected and the service was fine also other than the initial incident.

Food was good. Ordered and came out quickly, even for a busy Saturday night. Really enjoyed the beef carpaccio, miso steak and fried rice. Perfect portion sizes and we were left really so full! Would go back again

I have been to a few Okami Restaurants but Fairfield has by far been the best! All the dishes we had (and we tried just about everything!) were fresh and delicious. The teriyaki steak was "melt in your mouth" and the prawns were very, very fresh! Service was quick and the hot food was piping hot. Will definitely spread the word about this place!
