Sedap Place restaurant

We were excited to give a treat to our brother on his birthday after an excellent first dining experience the week before. However, we are disappointed to say that it had been a complete opposite last night. There were 5 of us. The dishes were served to one person first, and after about 10mins, the second and third person were served (but not complete order), the fourth and fifth person had to wait a total of almost 35 mins before being served (these were dishes that did not require long cooking time). We then had to keep following-up on the incomplete order for the second and third persons as well as the three ice kacangs that we ordered. The ice kacangs' ice were not shaved, they were grinded. This made eating difficult as the ice bonded back quickly. They should use a commercial quality ice shaving machine. In total, we spent 1.5hrs for a meal - almost like fine dining time. The quality of the meal is good though.

The service at this place is usually very good. But unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience yesterday. We ordered nasi lemak with fried chicken but the kitchen forgot our fried chicken. We had to wait for about 20 min after reminding them that we have not received the order. So our nasi lemaks were already cold by the time the chicken were here. When we made the payment, the staff apologised and offered a 10% discount, which we appreciated. But then later she told us that there was a public holiday surchange of 10%, which kind of took away the pleasure of getting the discount. All in all, mistakes do happen, so I hope that this is just a once off experience due to the crowd during public holiday.

We had lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great food and drinks. Family friendly. Chendol frappe was awesome.. will definitely be back to try other foods.

A very satisfying dinner, excellent food,service and staff,definitely go again. The food was very flavorful, restaurant packed, good atmosphere, priced very reasonably. Worth going again

I ordered Roti canai, which was super fluffy, and my friend ordered beef rendang Nasi lemak, which looked awesome. Both had Teh Tarik, one of the best in the town. We loved it!

Very nice food. Share portions are small. Very cramped for space. Staff were regularly inattentive, but very nice and the food came out very quickly.

Yummy Malaysian food. Generous serving sizes and quite reasonably priced. The roti is nice and thin but slightly crispy. The char kway teow is alspo surprisingly good with a nice bit of char

We enjoy dining at Sedap. Sedap/delicious certainly describes the cuisine at this friendly restaurant. Hot spicy is just that, mild also if you so desire. There is enough variety for vegetarians too. Our favourite restaurant for authentic, fresh cooked flavours. Highly recommend trying this place.

Very busy and hence slow delivery of food. No dish was particularly memorable nor bad. Hiwever the dessert, sago gula melaka was overcooked and drowning in coconut milk. Unlikely to return.

Awesome new year meal at Sedap. Although it was quieter than normal, the food was still great and service was just as attentive.

Nice food and good service! Love their nasi lemak, laksa and teh tarik! Slightly expensive but the food portion is big! Recommended if you like Malaysian food.

Very nice food - rendang, chili squid etc. Service was great and atmosphere was okay - a little bland perhaps. Would definitely go back for a nice casual dinner.

Food is Ok, service is poor. We were not told that there was a booking for our table after a period of time enjoying ourselves. The courteous thing to do is warn us, but they didn’t. Instead they just told us when it was time to go.

Hadn’t visited for awhile so was very happy with the very friendly service and tasty laksa.

There were 10 of us. We went for dinner and celebrated my son’s birthday. Great food great service and great price. We will definitely revisit.

Second visit to the restaurant in less than a week. We tried mee hoon goreng, ayam masak merah & curry noodles. Thumbs up!!

Our favorite Malaysian food on Perth. It was a hot night so we did not have our usual Laksa and had Char Kway Teow and San choy Bau instead. So glad we did as now we have some new favorites :)

Nice authentic Malaysian cuisine at a reasonable price. Quick service even though the place is full when we went for lunch on the weekend. Definitely will come back to try different menu

Food was not great I have been here 3 times same quality too salty and missing the authentic Malaysian taste need improvement or will lose the market share

Food was good, I had the Christmas lobster special and that was spot on! However, my husband and I had almost finished our meals when this waiter came to the table and tried to take my husband's plate away! We still had food on our plates and there was also a piece of chicken in a bowl in the centre. Talk about eagerness!! When we complained to the manager, he didn't seem bothered and just said, "Oh sorry". Service definitely needs to be improved. Overheard at a neighbouring table a waitress who did not know a dessert item, that's on the menu, when asked by a customer.

Slow service - waited for 1 hour for food, food quality kind of average but, overpriced. Suggest to work on improving food quality instead of presentation.

Service and food was great, food came quickly and staff was polite and quick to respond to our requests. Would definitely return and recommend Sedap.

Great experience - we arrived early and were greeted with a warm welcome. Service was exceptional and the food was equally as exceptional. Definitely recommend visiting!

Nasi Lemak with Chicken Curry is one of the good dishes here. In terms of drinks, the Teh Tarik is great too. I have tried other items but always fall back to these choices.

Food was good but service was poor. Hard to get waiters attention. Took over 10mins to even get glasses for our wine. Mains were bought out before our entree. The service sadly ruined our evening and I would not be returning

Our family always enjoy a good meal at Sedap place. It is a great restaurant and always very professional. Love the variety of Malaysian delights.

Nice authentic malaysian food, full of flavour but little bit too spicy for me. Overall everything is good.

The nasi lemak and its condiments were cook to perfection, especially the sambal with bungs kantan. The fired kuay tewo has the "wok he" and test ted great. The price was very reasonable. The food arrived very soon after we ordered.

Good food. Manage to get a booking before dinner which is pretty good considering it is last min booking from quandoo. Will come back again

Great food and service. Best chicken satay ever! I suggest you book if you want a guaranteed table as many groups turned away when we were there.

Delicious as always. The fried mantau buns with anchovy sambal was brilliant! The curry laksa was a huge portion and tasty but there seemed to be more of a curry flavour compared to the last time I had it. Service was polite and efficient.

I went with friends last week and the food tasted really good. Then I decided to book a table for my family this week and food was just above average. So I am wondering if they changed chefs???

Always a good feed at Sedap. Food is good and service is prompt and friendly. Food portion is of decent size too. Very good value for money.

Doesn't seem as busy nowadays as compared to before which might not necessarily be a bad thing. Service was somewhat lacking on this particular visit though as we had to wait for someone to bring us the menu as it seemed there were insufficient menus to go around???

The staff were awesome from the minute we got there especially Lilian I think her name was who greeted us upon arrival. Weren't sure what to order and once again everything recommended was beautiful. Excellent food and excellent staff what more could you ask for Will be back xxx

Long time to get served, oily food. Pretty disappointed. Used to be much better!

Most of the food was nice with generous servings. However, one of us was served raw chicken. It had to be replaced. Ice kachang was very good. Thinly shaved rice.

Very interesting food. Food well presented and very tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend Sedap Place. Service very friendly and helpful. Can use the Entertainment book there, which is good.

Food was great but the server was a bit rushed even though there weren’t so many customers at the time, so got worried if she got the order right.
