Lovely food and service as always The food is surprisingly quick

I love this restaurant. Great food, lovely service and handy location.

Overall a nice dining experience with good lighting and seating. The sashimi was a little bit fishy (tuna toro) but other it was nice. They forgot one of our dishes/took a bit longer to make but we ended up cancelling it as we were already full.

Really delicious fresh amazing food! We couldn’t believe that we’ve lived in Carnegie for so long and never visited Shyun before. The service was super fast, the staff were all very polite and friendly and although we ordered about triple as much as we could physically eat, the bill was very reasonable.

What a way to start the new year. First restaurant for 2026.

Delicious food, which arrived very soon after we ordered. I'm glad we booked, as walk-ins were being turned away. The greeter was super friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't like is that you can't split the bill. Other than that, it's a great place to eat out.

If I’m around the area, we would always come to Shyun! Food quality is tops!

Wasn’t thr best experience. We were seated and no one came to assist . Had to go get our own menus and then had to approach staff to work out how to order. Then all food came out at once. Entrees and mains all squeezed onto table. Food was yummy. A few of us had curry but were disappointed no vegetables in the curry, no potato or carrot as used to. It needed something to break up the dish.

Consistently delicious food- the bento box is my go to dish with a combination of teriyaki chicken, teriyaki tofu and katsu chicken. Yum!

Tried the spicy tuna roll for the first time, it was quite tasty. The tempura prawn roll is still the best.

The food is always delicious, and we find ourselves going almost every Friday. We really enjoy it and always look forward to our visits.

We especially love the bento box, the dumplings, and the potato salad. It’s a place we always enjoy coming back to.

I now come here on a regular basis. The agedashi is delicious and is a generous serving.

Food was great! They offer BYO on bottled wine which they charge a $20 fee and depending on how busy they are sometimes the charge is $10 a bottle. Inconsistent! Still the food is great and still cheaper to pay bottle fee than buy a glass of wine for $15 and 3 sips and it’s finished.

The food were quite good but a bit oily especially the tempura.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. We have eaten at Kadota previously, just over a year ago, and I walked out saying that it was literally the best meal that we had ever had. This time the new menu was nothing like our first experience. Nothing was 'wow' like last time. The food was still nice, but not amazing, and definitely not worth the price. Service was still great and the meals presentation was pretty, but the flavours just weren't there.

We are regular Shyun customers . The food never fails to disappoint. However we have resorted to coming on weekdays due to the weekend surcharge

Great for family dinner, teenage kids love the vibe and reminds us of our trip to Japan

The new location is fantastic! Still always busy so you need to book a table a few days in advance

Shyun is a family favourite. The kids love the katsu chicken bowl and we love the bento boxes and sushi. Always top quality. Just for awareness there is a Saturday surcharge of 5% and a credit card surcharge which is a new addition.

Excellent speedy service and very tasty food! Highly recommended. Must book in advance.

I had tried three different kinds of sashimi on rice in my recent visits. $18.9 diced sashimi $24.9 regular $29.9 premium The premium sashimi on rice is value for money in consideration of types of fish/seafood provided and the freshness. Paying the extra dollars is worth it.

The food was ok but felt very rushed to eat and get out. Not a place to go to if you want to have a relaxing dinner.

Came here on a Friday night, it was quite busy but our food came quickly and everything was delicious! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Will definitely be back.
