Must eat: Singapore chilli sauce on mud crabs and buffalo wings. My go-to place for well cooked seafood. Unfortunately they only had the mud crab in a seafood mixture platter when we went.

Great service from the moment we entered and the seafood was fresh, delicious and well portioned. Great evening and will be back again for sure.

I booked in after a recommendation from a friend. Being allergic to crustaceans I was apprehensive but John put me at ease immediately. We had buffalo wings- amazing sauce; the seafood special and I had the char grilled chicken- best chicken of my life. Service was the best we've had in a long time. Highly recommend- it's a fun and delicious night out

Amazing food and outstanding service. The manager recommended our menu and he was spot on. If you get the chance, try the slow cooked chicken - you won't regret it.

Mud crab was awesome, Singapore chilly sauce is my no 1 choice. King crab not good timing to try now but definitely try it when the price down to normal.

Wonderful small restaurant delivering great food and friendly service. We made a huge mess that was swiftly dealt with after the frenzy of food heaven ended. A real feast and a great evening. Small wine list but does the job and with modest prices. Can't wait for next time.

All I can say is Wow! I eat seafood a lot and this would be the best crab outside of Alaska. My wife had the Jonah Claws in New Orleans sauce and I had the King Crab in Singapore Chilli sauce. Both were amazing. Make sure you make a reservation. Enjoy!

The food here is sensational. The Singapore chilli crab sauce is something special but don't expect to come away with clean hands! So enjoyable, crab was tender and delicious. A fantastic long lunch.

Over priced, bad service, inexsperienced staff and little help from staff with prices. There were tables ready inside but there where people still waiting outside. Cleaning tables while people wernt getting served

Great food. However, the price is something to consider for those who are on a budget. Good service and nice environment. Would recommend. Help support local businesses.

One of Brisbane's best hidden secrets. The menu has a fantastic selection of local and imported seafood which is really worth exploring. Not into crab no problem, there are ribs, burgers, steak and grilled chicken and vegetables options to satisfy your hunger. The wait staff, especially Jon makes the evening very enjoyable. St. James Crabhouse & Kitchen has become my new favourite place to eat. PS Jonah Crab Claws in Singapore Chilli sauce is fantastic.

our first time there, although we know the maître de, John, from Deerys. Really interesting experience - had the assorted crab/prawn selection. Great flavours. No extra dry cleaning required, although a few near misses. John looked after his with his usual friendly/attentive style.

We had the mussels (with the broth - forgot what it is called but there are only two options), Jonah crab claw (with Singapore chilli sauce) and Moreton Bay bugs (with Baltimore sauce). The mussels were beautiful in the broth and were fresh as they get fresh mussels and put them on ice. The Jonah crab claws (despite being frozen prior, were wonderful and easy to crack as they already have incisions in them). Loved the Singapore chilli sauce. I was not a massive fan of the bread, I thought they were a little stale but everything else was perfect.

Loved it. Staff just need to be a little more hospitable when people arrive and not just focus on their organising. Without guests they don't need to organise anything !! Love the food. And good value.

Good food, bit different which is a nice change from usual seafood places and friendly staff. Menu includes options for non seafood eaters also. Would definitely return.

This is a great little restaurant. The menu contains a bunch of interesting American food - ribs, burgers, etc. - but in our view the only reason to go is for the crab. You can get different local and imported crabs, depending on season and availability, and you combine your choice with one of the sauces. We love the Jonah's Claws (from Florida) and the Baltimore sauce, but that's just a matter of taste. The crabs come in a plastic bag (yes that's right), which they say keeps them hot for longer than putting them on a plate, and you get a big bib (essential) and gloves (optional) plus the usual implements for cracking the claws and extracting the meat. It's a lot of fun and absolutely delicious. Combine that with great, friendly service and a tiny but acceptable wine list and you have the makings of a great evening. There were five of us and we all had a blast - we'll be back.

Poor service, inattentive staff. For example, couldn't explain which of the regular crabs on the menu were local versus imported. Had to fetch our own water and never offered drinks other that at the start. Staff more interested in chatting to each other than dealing with any customers. As a local, unfortunately for them I won't be back. PS. the food was good!

The seafood was great, you need to enjoy eating and shelling crab, [bib, glove and tools provided] if you do this is the place to do it, fresh and sauces are wonderful. A real seafood experience. And by the way the serve was excellent.

I had the Singapore chili crab which came with complimentary cheese baguette, good for moping up the tasty sauce. Hubby had soft shell crab, swirly fries and crispy pork all equally delicious.! Staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Great food and service. Would recommend.

Good atmosphere, great food and very attentive staff! A big thank you to the manager for looking after us and being so attentive, and also the tips on how to eat the crab legs! This restaurant has become my number 1 option whenever I need to treat someone special or to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you for looking after my mum and made the night memorable, she rarely visit Australia and last time we saw her was over 3 years ago. Overall, definitely a place worth revisiting.

Service was a bit haphazard even though we were the only customers there for lunch, Garlic prawns and mussels for entree were excellent, Mud crab was boiled with a sauce added, For the price the crab could have been cracked and cooked in the sauce. Pre-cracking of the claws was not done well and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cracked. The small crab crackers supplied at the table were designed for sand crabs or similar.

This little restaurant was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was so fresh and delicious and was ready really quickly. We had a friend with us who doesn't like seafood, they brought her out gloves and a bib, so she could share the experience, to eat her chicken wings. We had such a ball and laughed all night. Completely different way of cooking and eating seafood to what we are used to in Australia would really recommend it to any seafood lovers.
