About Tibetan Kitchen - Spring Hill
When you first enter Tibetan Kitchen in Spring Hill, the first thing to hit you is the exotic aromas of incense combined with the enticing smell of fresh herbs and spices hailing from the kitchen, followed by an overwhelmingly comfortable and warm feeling. One of two locations in Brisbane, their iconic Spring Hill location with its eye catching bright yellow exterior and prayer flags hanging from the roof is a favourite among locals craving authentic Tibetan, Nepalese and Sherpa cuisine. Their famous dish sherpa chicken attracts guests from all over the city, as does the churipi curry and Tibetan chilli prawns. Operating since 1996, this Brisbane institution is located on Petrie Terrace and has a strong and loyal following so booking is highly recommended.

Good food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Caters for families and groups. Fully licensed or byo. We were a booking of 4 at 6pm on a Fridah night and it soon filled up with other diners. Would recommend booking to ensure a table.
Great food, good atmosphere, well priced meals. Service a little slow as they were trying to get the theatre goers served & out the door.
The food (entree & main) was fast & VERY delicious. They were short staffed front of house on this very busy night but the two lovely ladies handled politely and very well. Will definitely be back again.
Good meal, good service. They were quite busy as there was an event on right next door. Booked in at 6.30 and were out by 7.45. Our group of 4 had an entree and a main. Everyone very happy with their meals.
Delicious food marred to some extent by the "hit and miss" service. My order was mixed up in the kitchen....ended up with medium instead of mild goat....my husband got the mild instead of medium lamb.....needed yoghurt to put out the fire.....then wanted me to pay for it! On principle I suggested that it should be removed from the bill under the circumstances, but the staff member misunderstood and removed by goat main....much appreciated. Just be aware that there are currently no prawn dishes on the menu.....which we found out after we ordered them....would be sensible/helpful to have a note in the menu about this. Would we return....yes the food is so good and quite different to Indian restaurants.
The quality of the food has dropped since he last time I went there. In particular, the mixed entree was terrible. Frozen packet calamari wings and dried out chicken wings with very little flavour or meat on them. The curries were ok, but lacked intensity of flavour and it looked like they had gone for low grade meat. I think they try and cover too many options with their menu, if they stuck to traditional dishes that would be better.
We had a lovely night - the waitress was great to chat with, food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, and we were able to sit in one of the traditional lower tables in a semi-private area which was a nice addition. Will definitely be back!
Great food and service with a lovely atmosphere. Probably best to take advantage of the fact that they allow byo as many items on the drinks menu weren't available.
