Friendly family run restaurant, authentic menu, excellent service with good humour, nothing too much trouble.

Superb Polish home cooking; generous servings of delicious food. What a treat! ... the tripe soup is medicine for the soul and the pierogi are sublime. Just fabulous!

We had high hopes for this restaurant and would have continued supporting them but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the end of the night. When we got the bill we noticed that the handwritten list of items did not add up to the $291 final total of the bill - it was in fact $285. At this time, we had not proposed which method of payment we were going to pay with. When we went up to pay at the counter and queried this price difference, the owner / manager said that was the price if we were to pay by card and if we wanted to pay the "real" price, we need to use cash. We didn't end up having enough cash on us so we were somewhat coerced into paying an additional amount of money with no indication of how much of it was actually bank / transaction fees. This is so disappointing as the amount is not a lot and not the issue - we were even discussing leaving a generous tip for them during dessert, but being forced into paying a made up amount felt like we were being scammed. We know running a small business especially hospitality can be tough and we even respect the restaurant's sign on their counter noting that by patrons paying in cash, 100% of that will go to the restaurant for their hard work. However, when they dishonestly charge their patrons a made up sum, claiming it's an additional card charge without having known we would even pay with a card first, they no longer respect their customers and that left us feeling uncomfortable. Meanwhile during dinner we were talking about coming back and trying other items on the menu! Unfortunately not after this.

Always the best homemade Polish food in Sydney. Just disappointed no beef pierogi. That was the main reason I came tonight. Still amazing food all round.

The food is amazing. The kitchen did an incredible job. Just a great experience. The dumplings are the star of the show. Would recommend the potato and cheese (Fried with bacon and sour cream) and the duck & apricot (Steamed) However, the front of house were below standard. The two younger gentlemen seemed rushed, not present and even unfriendly at times. Our orders were incorrect on a few occasions with errors to the drinks and the mains. When ordering I had to repeat myself a few times but still the order returned wrong. They were slow to clear unused plates and glasses, and even suggested we reuse the dumpling plates rather than get us new plates for our shared mains. BUT the older gentlemen who was also serving us was excellent. He was warm, charming and made us laugh. Well done sir. Overall the food, the building and the atmosphere were fantastic. But for this price point ($260 for 2 people), the service needs to be better. Despite this, I would still come back.

Food seemed authentic and fresh. Prices were a little higher than similar restaurants that I usually go to. As someone else mentioned, there's not a lot of room between tables which gives a cosy or chaotic feel, depending on where you are seated. Service wasn't as friendly as other reviews mentioned - maybe because it was a busy Saturday night?

If you haven’t tried polish food, come to Alchemy. You will get plenty of choice to try from their extensive menu to get an idea of polish cuisine. Have one of their soups or Pierogi if you crave traditional food.

Food was very good and quickly served. Staff was very friendly. We received some free alcoholic drinks and the best are the homemade cakes. They are so delicious.

Great food and staff were fabulous. Was a busy Sunday so maybe a little more crowded than we would like. Everyone had to move so one of us could get out to go the bathroom. Normally not an issue but we had someone recovering from a hip replacement. Overall a great experience though. Would go again.

Within moments, one of our party declared it "his favourite restaurant!" While that was a little tongue in cheek, the night was fantastic. The service and food was wonderful and the courtyard in the back was cosy. Have already recommended it to people.
