At Fernando's

Food was average and service was poor - overall very disappointing and the restaurant was not at all like the website suggested. We will not go back.

One of the last true Italian restaurants in the once very Italian Norton Street. Easily the best, with plenty of very charming outdoor tables, perfect for summer nights. It's not great food, just good, and I'm a bit surprised that some main courses are $40+. But you can order pasta or pizza if the budget is tight and you still benefit from the wonderful old-style atmosphere and friendly service. They also have specials on certain mid-week nights and a free main course on your birthday if you register. All said, a far more enjoyable experience than the other Italian restaurant under the Palace theatre, which is indoor only.

I've never eaten so much food for years. We absolutely LOVE this place❤️ The food and service were both exquisite. We've planned our next visit already.

We didn't think the food was particularly appertising. The service was fine and food arrived quickly but it just wasn't anything very special. We both ordered pasta dishes.

I’m not sure if there are new owners but menu seemed different ! Food a little oily for me . Been here half dozen times but on this occasion not very happy with menu .they also ran out of a special on the mains.

I love the ambiance at Fernando's, it is a real restaurant not like so many eateries that are more like canteens. Great professional service. The menu is varied and caters for many tastes. Simply delicious. I go with friends and a dinning group.

beautiful setting; lovely ambience; and superb value for money. I thoroughly recommend "At Fernados" Leichhardt. The food was very well presented and extremely tasty. The wine selection second to none and sweats to die for as well a fine selection of aperitifs. A must visit.

Food was nice, great atmosphere, reasonably priced. Service was friendly and we're happy to accomodate byo wine. Happy to recommend for casual atmosphere with good Italian menu.

Me and partner went there to celebrate our anniversary.we have ordered frutti de mare (sea food main meal) , polenta chips and some salad and pasta. We have told the waiter that please make sure there is no parsley on meals as my wife is allergic to parsley.he said don't worry there won't be any parsley. About 15 min after main meal and polenta chips came with heaps of parsley pieces on it. I told him to return both and bring the ones without parsley on.he was sorry and apologized and took them back the kitchen. I was ok with it and understood that there might have been miscommunicating between us. Meal came without parsley BUT smell was very bad and tasteless ,i believe that they just washed it with tap water to remove parsley pieces and served it back to us.when it came first time the sauce was ticker and looked more red. Sauce tasted very bad , tasted like mixed with tap water and smell was bad. Just pushed ourselves to eat a bit as it is an expensive meal paying over 60 bucks for it. But couldn't eat much .i have also realized that polenta chips were supposed to come back without parsley but it was missing on the table.i asked the waiter why it still didn't come then he said there is no way to make it without parsley. I was a bit shocked. He should have told us before then we could maybe order another side dish. They prefered to remove it from order rather than asking if we want anything instead.it is ridiculous. Our stomaches hurts now and we are very sad. Couldn't enjoy our meals and disappointed.i just didn't want to have argue with them on our important anniversary dinner date. Ended up paying over 100 buck for worthless food.

The food is always Amazing always Imprressed at the price and quality , great atmosphere and friendly service make it one of ultimate favourite Places to dine in Sydney highly recommended !! 10 stars ⭐️

As always the food at Fernando is great and the service is good and friendly. Being too popular it gets a bit noisy but this wouldn't stop us from going back.

I love going to At Fernando's, it is always fantastic. We had a great time, and great food - the Spaghetti Marinara is a must try if you like seafood.

Food was OK, service was slow, tables were cramped and the noise within the dining room and from the function room upstairs just made it unenjoyable.

Our experience was not the best. I am sure that it is better on other nights. There was new staff and some things did not go smoothly. Additionally we found the food very rich which limited the options in choosing a meal - so the restaurant did not really suit our needs. Nice space.

Extremely good value and good Italian food at Fernando's. Staff are very helpful and courteous. An added bonus is the discount if you have cinema tickets from the Palace cinema across the road. Definitely advisable to book a table on a Friday or Saturday night ... well worth it!

I tried the pizza and tomatoes-mozzarella. It was overall good. The service was nice but a bit disorganized. Two waiters kept checking on us asking the same questions.

We love the food and service there. No fuss for a quick meal before the movies. The only minus on our last visit was we were seated next to a noisey table. Otherwise we will be definitely going back.

The service was second to none. The wait staff and management went above and beyond to make our dining experience a memorable one, and it was. Next time we're in Sydney, that's where we will be going to dine at. Highly recommend. 🙂

Love this restaurant. The service is fantastic and the staff make excellent recommendations. I went on their all you can eat pizza and pasta for $20 night (it was a Tuesday) and it is such good value for money.

Amazing place and our "go to" place every time we visit Sydney. The service, atmosphere, staff and food are fantastic. The quality and quantity of the meals are great value for money. We will keep going back.

Friendly, polite staff, and nice of them to give me a free main meal for my birthday, but overall, the food was pretty average and they didn't have what my son ordered.

The food is of simple standard- as in you could have produced beter at home when your entertaining friends. The whole experience felt like an episode of Faulty Towers with none of the staff having any idea how service should be run.

Wonderful food, wonderful staff so friendly and accommodating recommend you try this family run resturant it's beautiful you won't be disappointed. Going back next week for our daughters bday

Have always enjoyed eating at Fernando's! Beautiful decor, delicious food and friendly staff. Had a slight mix up with our order but was handled really well and got sorted out very promptly. Would highly recommend.

Food was good but overall service was poor. Entree dishes left on the table when they served main meal. Asked for clean cutlery they returned to say they had ran out. Asked for an ice bucket didn't have any available at the moment. Also had run out of aranincini balls thought the ingredients for these would be a staple in a restaurant kitchen . Staff were pleasant and polite

The birthday deal is absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed the pizzas and pasta and the night was topped off perfectly with a complimentary limoncello. a great little find!

Excellent food and service!!! Does not feel like your in a restaurant. It feels like home and has a fire place good on winter. Food is reasonably priced.

The food at is great, there is a lovely ambience as restaurant is well set out. But service, though pleasant can be slow even when it isn't busy.

Foods took a bit long as it was busy Friday night but service was friendly and foods were delicious. we will come back for sure.

If you don't mind the rather slow (although very friendly) service there's no better place for a relaxing dinner than At Fernando's. It's almost like having a meal in someone's home: no fussy menus just down to earth honest Italian staples (a good selection) cooked to perfection in generous proportions. It's worth the 12 minute wait as stated on the menu for the chocolate pudding! Love it.
