The city's best tacos! Super fast and friendly service and always a good time. We keep coming back because it's so good. Highly recommended :D

Very busy on $3 Taco Tuesday night. The tacos were great and tasty. Must book for Tuesday. Staff was ok but pushy when after 1.5 hour dinner session.

Food good but difficulties with staff due to language barrier - didn't understand what tap beer was, had to repeat orders and overall communication difficulties - friendly enough but just made the experience a little more difficult

Contrabando, on a $3 taco and $10 margarita Tuesday night, is fabulous value. The fish taco, and the beef, are oustanding in taste and texture. The margaritas slip down rather too easily. They're very accommodating. We always start with a group of 12, because we never know how many (sigh), and it's never been a problem to revise down the numbers. The staff are fabulous (they're run off their feet) so they can be forgiven a small oversight from time to time - rare. We love it so much we're thinking of making a standing booking once a month.

$3 Taco Tuesdays at Contrabando are a reliably good lunch. Ingredients taste fresh and meals are served promptly. It's usually fully booked on Tuesdays and there is often a queue of walk-ins waiting, so you don't have much time to linger. One side of the dining space is really well lit, but it feels like you're sitting in the dark a bit on the other side.

Good service, fantastic food every time. Taco Tuesday is a must. I have been a regular at Contrabando since their opening. Thoroughly recommended for a business lunch.

Always a great night at Contrabando! Taco Tuesday is pretty much the best deal in town. All of their usually delicious, gourmet tacos for a few bucks. Can't go wrong.

A bit chaotic on a Tuesday, but the food was tasty and affordable. Do not go on Tuesday without making a booking. Taco Tuesday is serious business.

Food delicious but not quite enough food in the lunch express menu, needed to order another item. The service is prompt but not particularly friendly, this has been my experience on more than one visit.

This was the first time I've ever eaten at Contrabando and I was not disapppinted. Delicious tacos- especially loved the crispy fish tacos which had a great texture, but for me the quesadillas were the highlights of our meal (my friend and I had the Cheeseburger and Butternut Pumpkin quesadillas). The food came quickly and the service was excellent- water was topped up regularly without having to ask which is something I always appreciate. The restaurant lighting was dim enough to make it cosy and great for Friday night catchups, but bright enough at the tables so that you can actually see and appreciate the food you are eating. Definitely going back again!

Got three tacos, fish, pulled pork and korean fried chicken. Fish tacos were delicious. Pulled pork was a little too sweet. Good location near circular quay. Good atmosphere. Good value.

Food was amazing as usual, service could have been a bit better but in their defense it was a lunch crowd and really bad weather. Otherwise pretty good.

The best tacos in town! If you're unsure what to get I highly recommend the fish and beef tacos. Food also comes out really quick and waitresses were able to separate out the onions for me when ordering guacamole.

Delicious tacos! Our group tried all the different flavors and even one that is not the menu. My favorite one though has to be the beef cheek taco!

It was really hot and stuffy, in the restaurant. We were seated in the middle and the staff were very slow in getting to us, on a night that they admitted they weren't that busy.

The Food here is always exceptional with speedy delivery. Some of the wait staff aren't overly friendly (ie, don't smile or engage you) but on the whole the dining experience is wonderful.

It was really great. The fish tacos are very delicious and the price cant be beat (on tuesdays, though still good other days). The set menu is also quite good, especially the corn.

Amazing food and atmosphere! The chipotle and fish tacos were a highlight. The place was super busy, so sometimes it was hard to get the staff members attention, but I guess that's understandable.

This was my first time at Contrabando after hearing my friends rave about it and was not disappointed. The fish tacos were amazing, and still cannot believe it is cheaper than a dish of sushi at sushi train. Really fast service.

I love the fact that there are no big signposts announcing the restaurant, it almost feels like you are a part of a secret underground society. Wonderful food, awesome ambiance!

Tacos are always great - on Fridays 4 for $20 are a great option for a group lunch! Service is always quick. Drinks are a bit pricey!

Good food as always. Great buzz on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesdays. Get very busy. They have a good selection of tacos but the fish are my favourite. Will definitely be back again.

The food and drinks were amazing! The service was below average (sorry). Really hard to track staff down to order more food and drinks, and the staff seemed disinterested. Would come back because food was so good.

Great food, great service and awesome margaritas! Would recommend the restaurant for groups too as the sharing menus are perfect. It is a bit hard to spot from the street as not very well sign posted so make sure you check google maps.

Best Taco Tuesday in Sydney! Service is generally good for what is a pretty busy night. Margaritas a little on the sweet side - less lime syrup please :)

Overall very positive. Pretty clean table and very beautiful environment. Very good services from the staff. The most important, the rolls tastes supper good. I will recommend.
