Our favourite cuisine and restaurant in Brisbane. Was surprised to note kanthari chick was off the menu ( our absolute favourite). Spoke to the owner, seems we were in a minority as far as demand went. He told us we could as the server to make it for us.

Almost all dishes were below average. This was not expected from this restaurant.

The Mesala Dosa was disappointing. I visit our office in India often and Masala Dosa is my favorite Indian food. Indeed, I visit Dum & Rum specifically for it. Our local Indian Restaurant does not offer it. The potato filling last night was quite bland and was a very small serve so that the pancake out flavored the filling

Rain played havoc and could get there as earlier as intended, hence had to settle for takeaways.

Had lunch. The goat curry was delicious and a generous portion too. The griddle wasn’t quite ready so couldn’t have the dosa but the alternative bread(also using fermented rice flour) was good

Banana Leaf meal was amazing and value for money and throw a Mackerel even better 😍

May be good idea to delegate 1 staff to a table rather than multiple staff asking the same questions and creating confusion amongst themselves.

The food was great really good flavors the reason for the okay rating was the service. We waited 15 mins for our drinks to come they missed one drink that took an additional 10 mins to come The second order of drinks took about 10 mins and the glass of wine ordered never came We had to keep getting up to get the waitress attention. There was no awareness of guests waiting for attention

Weekend Kerala banana lead meals are worth the price, throw some fried anchovies and voila ❤️

The food was wonderful. We felt there were insufficient front of house staff to adequately attend to the customers. We would have ordered dessert and more drinks but we couldn't get the serving staff's attention.

Food and ambience was amazing but understaffing was a bit frustrating. Took ages to get my reserved seat inspite of empty seats, waited long to take my order. After lunch extended delay in bringing my cuppa team.

Its just the hype created around that restaurant about the authentic Kerala Food and about serving Toddy. Other than that, the food is no where compared to south indian food. The Thekkan chicken curry was bad, the starters is overpriced for for Vizhzham chicken fry which tasted bland. Only thing that was good was the chicken biryani and khizhi parotta. Even the normal parotta was not good.

The food is amazing. Such a different Indian style of dishes. Standard butter chicken etc is available but even these are fantastic.

Great mix of both British Indian and traditional Kerala style cuisine. Fresh flavours in all dishes. Some of the tastiest Indian food I’ve had anywhere. Warm and friendly service too so ticks all the boxes. Wil. Definitely be back.

the table was not reay when I arrived on time. A plate was placed on the table at the middle when it was made ready, When the food came there was no cutlery, I had to request one. Table waiting a bit to be desired, but the food was great.

Great service and fantastic food. Loved the Kaanthari Toddy😀. Will be coming back for sure.
