It was my third visit to Enigma, I took a few friends to give the chance to sample the modern Greek cuisine. The Food was excellent, the service was very good as Mario did a great job in helping us. Very disappointed in our attempt to try the OUZO for the first time instead of the wine, there was six of us at $10 a pop, we received about 20-30ml in our glasses barely enough for a sip or two. While the food is nice, the prices are very expensive in comparison to our other restaurants in the area, the Ouzo experience was not a good one. We all felt it was a rip off, for around $60 we could have bought a nice bottle of wine or a few beers. The management need to be more in tune with their offering if they want their customers to keep coming back to Enigma.
A better than average suburban eatery with attentive rather than fussy service. A good selection of traditional Greek dishes and some Greek wines alongside more mainstream offerings. The soft-shell crab and salt & pepper calamari were fresh, simply presented and just the right amount for entrees. The Moussaka is truly excellent, with a precisely engineered balance of meat, eggplant and bechamel sauce and a light sprinkle of parmesan on top. Not sure why it is served with a slice of toasted sourdough. The rib eye fillet of steak was tender, juicy and perfectly matched with dutch carrots and excellent mash on a light jus. The desserts are fairly standard fare: the fig and date pudding was disappointing - all cake with barely a hint of fig or date, although the sauce has just the right amount of sweetness when too often sauces for this dish are far too sweet. There is a good selection of cocktails and mocktails and excellent coffee. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. Recommended for couples or families.
I went to Enigma with a friend for lunch. The restaurant is bright, light and airy with a good table layout, friendly staff and good service. We had the calamari as an entrée and the lamb stew as a main. The calamari was tender and perfectly seasoned and the stew was exceptionally good - slow cooked super tender lamb with an excellent well balanced sauce. I will definitely return for more!
Always a wonderful meal and dinning experience when we go to Enigma. The Mezze plate is awesome giving you a taste of some the yummy foods they have on offer. Salt and pepper squid is one of our favourites. The staff are always welcoming and happy to help in any way.
I have been to Enigma many times and never been disappointed. Excellent service always. I went with friends and we had the special three courses and glass of wine and it was all excellent. The cocktail of the day was also consumed which was most enjoyable.
If asked by friends I would have no hesitation in giving the enigma restaurant at the Towers entrance in Castle Hill my highest recommendation. The staff are welcoming and friendly especially that of the senior male waiter whose pleasant banter and friendliness is constant and sincere. The meals I have enjoyed there were of the highest quality with generous amounts and, I believe, so too have been those of my friends and family. The furnishings and appurtenances are comfortable and the wine list and surrounds are of high standard. Will Parker.
