Located in the heart of the bustling Newtown, Kammadhenu is a charming restaurant specialising in Asian cuisine. Namely focusing on Indian, Sri Lankan and Malaysian cuisines, you’ll find fragrant, flavoursome and delicious dishes brimming with fresh herbs and spices. Situated on King Street, this buzzing Sydney restaurant boasts curries including beef vindaloo cooked with ginger and garlic; dosa with your choice of filling; thalis; biryani cooked with goat and a particularly delicious crab curry made with blue swimmer crab, coconut and curry leaves. A favourite among Sydney locals for good reason, Kammadhenu Newtown is not to be missed. It does tend to fill up though so be sure to book ahead.

The decor is basic but the food, service & value for money were all excellent. If you value what a restaurant looks like it may not be for you but if you value high quality food, served in a timely manner & at a very reasonable price then I highly recommend it.
Really delicious food. So many traditional snacks too choose from. Eggplant curry and chana masala were lovely. My favourite was the pani puri.
We really enjoyed the food. The menu is very broad with excellent notes to help you know about the food. Servings are generous and very tasty.
