Having been there for over 15 years now, Sahara By The Park is more than a quality Turkish restaurant for many Burwood locals. For some it’s more like a neighbourhood hangout, with a vibrant atmosphere and prime spot for social gatherings right by Burwood Park in the shopping centre, so it’s often used as a convenient meeting point. Most of all, though, some people find they can’t go too long now without getting their fix of Omer and Ayfer Evran’s authentic Turkish food, which cannot even be compared to the standard kebab sadly familiar around Sydney. Here on Burwood Road, Sahara By The Park gives Turkish food its just desserts (and of course some super sweet desserts for you, too) across an amazing menu of grilled meats, fresh pides, vegetarian choices (the eggplant steamboat tempts carnivores too) and the creamiest, tastiest hummus and baba ghanoush in the area.
