Traditional fare done very well. It has great schnitzel at a very reasonable price and good service. Fantastic choice for colder evenings. Will definitely go again.

There are not many meal choses in the menu. Overprices. Other German restaurants are better in my opinion. Portions are small. Customer service is really good.

Remember to bring a BIG appetite!! A lovely little piece of Germany just off Broadway, Sydney. Great service, wholesome and filling authentic fare. Great value for money too.

The service was very good. The decore is very nice. We loved the spatzel. It is real spatzel, not just some short spagettie, which some places call spetzle. The rosti and cabbage were also very good. The salmon was cooked well. We appreciated their flexibility.

Extremely generous serves for the dishes, a good range of beers to choose from, friendly and attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for casual gatherings.

Food and service superb. Voucher made value even better. Try the mixed platter for two-if you have the courage! Strudel excellent and great selection of beers.

Our first time there and we were not disappointed. Food's yummy, staff are helpful, price are reasonable. The knuckle is to die for :) Will definitely go back again.

I rate them excellent in food and service. The guys serving us were friendly and attentive to the needs of their customers. We will go there again, planning to bring our family and friends.

I love this place. It's my go to for group gatherings. I always get food envy because I like the look of everything on the menu but I tend to stick to what I've ordered before because it's so good! Never had a bad meal here, though when it gets busy you might have to wait a while - but it's so worth it!

Unbelievable value where the terms were different and more generous than what the voucher stated which was only 2.5 meals. 6 person meals including drinks up to the value of $306 was generous. Best voucher experience I have had. And the food and service was really good. Will tell friends and family.

Gather with friends with Scoopin deal. We Definitely will go to Essen again. The Pork crunkle, price wise, by the taste and size, the best in Sydney.

Excellent staff and great food. HUGE portions so forego entree. Parking was no hassle in nearby TAFE carpark at reasonable cost. Recommended as a good family venue.

Great service and attention to detail. The food was yummy and made well. Lots of drink choices of European flavours. A very enjoyable experience and will happily go again.

The best food restaurant and for services, staff need more professional as they chat each other's during busy times. Well im still be back there as The restaurant are my favorite for the last 15 yrs .

The food is really warm and great. Definitely bringing my wife next time to enjoy some beer and veal sni. Also, the pork belly and knuckle seems so nice.

Great food and really generous servings. Also has great atmosphere. Worth checking out, but skip lunch if you do, as the servings are big and hearty.

Mains took an hour to arrive but food was good. Schnitzel is much smaller than it used to be, but in fairness it used to be way too big.

love the food at this restaurant! best pork crackle ever! have been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed the meal, even our kids who are very fussy eaters. Definitely be returning.

One of my favourite restaurants - best schnitzels in Sydney! Loved the Dutch croquettes as well. And a lovely European atmosphere, great service as well.

Lunch was just the best, had a variety of meat dishes on a plate for 2, plenty of food and great taste. Would definitely be going back and recommend Essens to friends.

We had a fabulous date night at Essen Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent, friendly yet professional! The pork crackling entree is warm, crunchy and deliciously light, the pulled pork spätzle reminded me of my late grandmother's cooking. The pork sausages with the sauerkraut were divine and the giant 1 litre beer from th tap was beautiful. I was also happy to see absinthe on the menu, which I love, and it was served perfectly, with care!

After twice trying to drop by being told they were booked out, I pre-booked Essen on Quandoo, so when we turned up they were expecting us. We were welcomed and service was quick and friendly. I asked the waiter for a recommendation as I hadn't been there before and he recommended their pulled pork German "pasta" dish. (I can't remember the real name for it). It was delicious and I ate every morsel, it was so yummy. (I'm tiny so was too full to try dessert after). My partner had the sausage tasting plate featuring 4 different sausages which he enjoyed as well. We will definitely revisit. Was pleasant atmosphere, very popular (every table full) and the other dishes looked great too.

Freindly service with great food and in a nice homely feeling resturant. Pork knuckle is very filling i must say, and was nice of them to offer a container to take the rest home!

Service was friendly and the food was good. We had the pork crackling to start then pork belly and veal schnitzel. We were very full afterwards as the portions are generous.

Very good beef ribs, if a bit fatty. The pork knuckle was quite big and I always enjoy the crispy and salty skin. I would recommend this to everyone.

Very nice, friendly and attentive service with a smile. The food we ordered was ready quickly and hearty to match the large quantities of beer I guzzled.

The food was delicious, although the rosti was bland and not cooked in places. But the staff were below average. We even had to move as no-one had come to take our drink order where we were sitting. They seemed new and stressed although it was a fairly normal Saturday night. Pity because the pork belly is amazing!

really nice service, food was good, amount of food was outrageous. As it was my birthday, i got a complimentare apple strudel after the meal which was really surprising and nice. Good food if youre craving that german kind of food!

The service is ok, but the food took quite long time to come out. The pork knucle was crispy and savoury, the lamb shoulder was tender.

The food was really Nice tonight. Everyone was happy, our table had schnitzels, pork knuckle and salmon. The strudel was amazing, hot with ice cream. The service was 5 out of 5 as well. Will be back

I did not think that Essen was particularly friendly or authentic. It certainly needs a better German beer selection on tap. The food was decent enough though.

Great service. Pork knuckle was very crispy and had good flavor. Pork Schnitzel was also very good. Beer list is impressive. Great value also. Serving size is massive.

The food was amazing, the hospitality was good and the atmosphere was wonderful! The portions were huge, the setting was nice and cosy! Will be coming back for sure :)
