Arrived at restaurant & was greeted with a smile. Our waiter was great & attentive. Food portions was perfect & tasted delicious. Will come again

Great food good service our favourite Restaurant. Convenient location. The Menu has a good selection the quality is always consistent never leave hungry have to take a doggy bag home.

Entrees were nice, pork knuckle was a bit dry & service wasn't as good as I have had previously. Deal when arrived was different, as said get one entree between two, a main each & dessert each but ended up paying extra (apart from drinks.) I wouldn't buy this voucher again.

Great food and good value! We had the pork belly, schnitzel and sausage platter. Also love the interior finishing - a very warm and cosy setting. Friendly customer service. Would go back soon!

Good food with generous serves, good variety of beers and good service. We had the meat platter for two and enjoyed everything - only just managed to finish it.

Having just been in Europe, and celebrating my husbands 70th birthday we were disappointed with the food. The service was good, but probably would not visit again.

Fast service on the night we ate there. Essen has a wide selection of beers which compliment the tasty German cuisine well. Large meals so expect to be full when finished.

Nice ambience, friendly staff. Best pork knuckle I've had in Sydney! Be warned: even though it doesn't look huge, one pork knuckle could easily feed 2 people, if not 3.

Excellent service and generous portions. We could have easily shared either our pork knuckle or veal schnitzel. The hefewiesen was icy cold and very tasty. The deserts, crème Brule and apple strudel was also excellent. A great dining experience.

Service was extremely slow, had to wait for more than one hour for our food. Food was ok, but not overly authentic with Enoki mushrooms in the Spaetzle.

Great beers, food and service. It has become our preferred restaurant for special occasions'but prices and location resonable enough for any night dining out. Highly recommended.

The restaurant has great atmosphere. I ordered Veal Schnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce which was very yummy, and rosti came with was just perfect !

The food & service was fantastic all night. The meals were great portions & all cooked to perfection. The restaurant was set out in a Bavarian style beer hall which was a pleasant change. Can't fault anything on the night. I will definitely return.

We were not disappointed at all in our experience in this Restaurant. The waiters were courteous and helpful. The meals had been prepared well based on the continental style. Good coffee served at the end. Parking could be a problem although buses are running along the street.

Food was nice but the meat platter for 2, at $68, was relatively small, compared to similar dishes at other german restaurants. If not for the scoopon voucher it would be a rip off. Service and ambience was good though. Really appreciated the kids activity packs to keep my 2 boys entertained before the food arrived.

A hearty and generous dinner on a cold wintery evening. The service was attentive -however, we would have appreciated advice on not to order so much as the meals are very large. with a group of 8 we had no complaints, everyone left warm and satisfied.

Dinner on a Monday is the way to go. Service was quick and food was great value. The grilled salmon was a bit dry but still tasty. Everyone on the table had a great time and left satisfied.

We went back to Essen again as their food and the experience was really nice. This time also met my expectations - food was nice and the waiters were helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food and good size portions. Plenty of good beer choice. Handy parking nearby at Broadway shopping centre. Only downside is it's a bit pricey.

Yummooooo!!!! Never think it will be such a delicious dinner with my family. We love pork crackling and Essen delivered them beautifully and our desserts (Choc & Hazelnut Strudel, and Creme Brulee) were fantastic too. We Love Essen! :D

I have visited this restaurant on two occasions and both times I have found the food to be good. The meal sizes were a good size and the availability of doggy bags is very helpful

Fantastic; servers were open friendly and helpful, atmosphere was pleasant & relaxing decor was beautiful. Food was so good in presentation, portions and flavor. All in all a wonderful experience and fantastic value.

Another really yum dinner at Essen restaurant. We had the meat platter for 2 and all of it was perfectly cooked and deliciously tasty. Service was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Definitely be visiting again.

The staff were very friendly, warning us the servings are large and helped us choose our orders. The Pea & Ham soup was nice but a bit over salty so I couldn't finish it. The staff asked the reason, went straight to warn the kitchen, then offered a replacement - a very nice touch which we declined. The Pork Knucke we had as main was better than at others restaurants we tried - juicy inside and crunchy outside. I loved the Black Forest Mousse Cake, creamy and light. I even bought an extra one to take home!

Food was very good and service was excellent. Location is great and we liked the heritage building. Next time I will try the pear William Schnapps. Thank you Geoff for a good evening.
